I ordered this ring Valentine's day, and it came today.
I asked my BF if he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me and he said yes!
That's all I've ever really wanted to know, and now I have the ring to prove it.
I should add that when we met 6 years ago, I asked him out, and when we got involved, it took 6 months before the words I love you were ever uttered, and I said them first, so this was just in keeping with that tradition. lol
The ring is beautifull, my proposal was on our second date, Would you marry a guy like me, I said Yes, he said When, on your Birthday which was 3rd Jan, OH, our dates where xmas eve and new years eve, we where married 13 days later. No fancy stuff just at the registry office. Just goes to show $30.000 dollar weddings are not a must have. We had Milk Shakes with my Mum and G'Father and younger sister after we where married then went to see my Dad at work. So now kim, pop the question, when? AND he asked me how many kids I wanted, I said 13, they are cheaper by the bakers dozen, you get one for free. LOL... XXXXX June............CONGRATULATIONS.
Of COURSE there's love at first sight!! When I met Rob (and I should say, just to be honest, my second husband- who I was married to for 15 years) it was instant attraction.
Thank you guys!!
At this point, I don't want or need a wedding. At some point in the future, yes, but I'm not pushing the issue. I've done the hard part. I asked him to spend the rest of his life with me and he said yes. That's all I've ever really wanted to know. Well, that, and to be able to wear a ring. It does get tiresome calling someone your boyfriend when you're in your 40s, and you've been together for 6 years. I was ready, and honestly, got tired of watching every holiday pass, thinking and/or expecting a ring or a proposal.
I told him that if he ever wanted to do it properly/traditionally (a proposal) that was up to him, otherwise I'm happy with where things are right now.
