Hi ladies. I'm new here and just discovered the site. I have a lot of questions and hope you all won't mind me posting on here. I have been on the hunt for the perfect little baby to model my handmade baby hats/diaper covers etc. And I'm wanting to find a baby that is realistic looking, has a belly and back plate but one that is still very poseable! Is this even possible? Or do you have to decided whether you want a poseable baby or a baby with belly back plate? I found a doll that has a nice price for 150 ( since I cannot spend a fortune) from A D. But she is made from cloth body. Could a plate be attached? Sorry for asking so many things. I'm just completely clueless here

HI Dana, welcome! Yes, u can attach a belly and back plate to a cloth body.. actually, Im making a doll just like that right now, she is going to have back and belly plates.
Hello and welcome to our family forum. What size baby are you looking for? Also, can you post a link to the AD doll you are looking at (not a pic, just a link please). I may be able to help you out. And can you post a link to your hat/covers here too so I know what to look for in a baby? Do you want smiling, happy, neutral, newborn, older (3-6 mos)? Do you want a baby with rooted hair or a wig?
As Susan said, it is possible to add a belly/back plate to a doll. It would have to be painted to match as close as possible. With diaper covers I'm thinking you would want a baby with full legs to show the covers off well. I'm sure there is something we can work out. Not only am I a reborner myself but also a reborn teacher. I am also a Secrist/AVDW doll dealer. You get me the details and I'll help you find something you like and try to stay within your budget :D
Welcome Dana, as you can see already, we are a friendly helpful bunch of reborner, collectors and just you average, cup of tea. We love to chat and share our knowledge with all on the forum. You can also do a search in Artist Showcase, I dont know what time it is over there but here in OZ it is 6.33pm. Once again , WELCOME> XXXXXX June
Thank you all so much for the warm welcome. I have a wonderful feeling I will find all the help I need here. And the perfect little baby doll :) Thank you ladies much
Have you tried putting them on Etsy? It's not an auction, has minimal fees, and is much more comfortable than ebay. Thing I like about Etsy is that all the stuff is hand made. :D

I have not tried Etsy yet. I have thought about it but I just havent done it. If the fees are better there I may just set one up. I have only sold 2 things so far on Ebay.
I head several women say Etsy is hard to get sells, but it seems Ebay is hard too. I sit and make soo many hats and dresses and have a huge pile of stuff lol. Hoping to sell some of it.
I'm also hoping to buy a beautiful baby doll to model my stuff. But haven't had any luck finding one, or someone to work with me yet.
Etsy's fees are very minimal. More people coming/looking on there all the time. It costs just 20 cents per item to list. So I listed 4 doll kits and it cost me 80 cents. lol
I didn't get a reply back from the last pm I sent you. Did you get it?
Cazzy, I didn't see anything on there that said it was "American" for selling. You may want to contact them to ask. I think it's open to anyone in the world. Does anyone else know for sure?
