Secrists Zoe, is a nice easy baby to reborn for a beginner, but get the 3/4 arms and klegs. PS I just answered this post and then read the other where you said you had done Zoe, do you wnt a boy or girl?Another one is Jasmine, Jamie, or open eyed Missy, I love Roie also. I all depends on your likes and dislikes about the shape of a babies face, I guess. XXXXX June.

Girl or boy doesn't matter as you can pretty much make any kit into either one. I'd focus more on do you want an awake baby or asleep and what size and age you are looking for. There are a lot of sites on the internet that show all kinds of finished babies and you might look through those to see which one you like, then come back to Secrist and see if they carry the kit.
There is a great website maintained by a woman in France (or a French-speaking country) called "ALL REBORN KITS EVER MADE" (rebornkits.canalblog.com/archives) It is really amazing what she has done. Of course many of the kits are probably no longer made, but you might get an idea of what you are looking for -- that is after you have spent hours and hours and hours looking at all the beautiful babies.
Also, I'm looking for a kit too. For quite a while I've been trying to find a real NEWBORN REBORN with open eyes and a not too sad look on his/her face. I know very newborn babies don't smile, but I really don't want a grumpy one or a baby who looks like it is miserable. Any ideas are appreciated.
Poppy... how about Walter by Laura Tuzio Ross? I posted some pics of him in the showcase. He looks fairly newborn and has the forehead wrinkles. He is just adorable and I got him a couple of days ago. I just can't wait to get my shop done so I can paint him!!!
You can bake pretty much any kit, but most of them you don't want to bake in your home food oven as they are toxic when baked. Give off toxic fumes and they stay in the oven.
I use a heat gun for all mine, simply because I have birds, and I don't want to chance fumes getting to them. I don't think I have any kits from secrist, so I can't be sure of the danger.
Also, since you asked about kits, I'm partial to Connor from BB. Definitely check them out and see what they have to offer.

P.s have you seen blinkin he/she's new and from BB
Ashley, you could always check out the search feature for "countertop ovens" and see what you think. They run about $85-$129 depending on where and what time you get them. Mine was at a place called Fleet Farm. It was about $99 but has been the best thing as I don't just do Secrist kits (the made in USA ones are all non-toxic), I do lots of other kits from other companies. I just take my little oven outside in the warmer weather and bake my little heart out! :D
oh and liselle i do like conner or maybe its mostly his little outfit but now i cant find him pm me what site hes on because theres 2 bbs p.s have you done him before
