Elena of B and B
Permalink

I am unbelievably sad to hear of the news that we have lost Elena of B 'n B to cancer.  I met her one time when she met me at her sister's home to hand deliver me some things I needed for a doll a woman wanted in a hurry. She was always so sweet to me and sending me special little "happies" just because.  She even let me reborn one of her prototypes.  I am just destroyed about this and I JUST FOUND OUT!!!!!  She was a wonderful Christian woman who loved her home, husband and children.  She had the cutest little boy I met, too.  It is so sad those children have to go on without her.

Can anyone tell me where her funeral was or where she is buried?  I live outside of Houston and would love to go and pay my respects and take some flowers.  I am just not believing this.  And SO fast too.  I guess that's a blessing in disguise, but it's hard to understand.  Life is so short ladies.  SO SO SHORT!!!  My husband and I were just talking about how short it REALLY is.  And the older I get the quicker the years seem to fly by.  When we're sad about someone's death it's really a very selfish emotion.  We aren't sad for them really, because they are in a better place.  We're sad for ourselves because we will not have the joy of her trudging through this life with us.  If she was given the chance to come back here for 1 day or stay where she is, I can guarantee you she would stay where she is.  Why?  Because there is no better place than in the arms of THE Father.

Stepping down from my pulpit now.  I mean it though.  I will miss you Elena.  Love you girl.

You may want to check with Stephanie Sullivan. I believe she knows more. She is from Hunny Buns nursery. She posted about it in another thread here in forum. Maybe pm her for more info. Hope this helps

Hi,
Elena was cremated the day she passed, and there have been no funeral or service arrangements announced as of yet.  That's all I know, and I'm in touch with a long time member of the Goodsons.  If I hear more, I'll let you know.

As it is, IRDA sent a card to Taylor and it was returned undeliverable yesterday, so I don't know what's up with that.  no

Thank you Stephanie, I appreciate it as well.  I don't understand what's going on either, but if I find out anything I will certainly pass it on too.

Elena was a dear, I just really hit it off with her.  I only live about 5 miles from her sister's home where I had met up with Elena one day to get some supplies for a reborning class I was giving and for parts for a doll a lady just HAD to have, so the next time I am over in that neck of the woods I will stop by.  I just don't want to intrude on anyone, but I would really like to know.  Not that I'm rich or anything, but if money is hard for the family right now and they are not able to have a service, I would be glad to help them out.  I thought that much of Elena.

That is so nice of you anonymous. Say, would you please do us a favor? Would you register as a forum member instead of being an anonymous guest? It would be nice if we could call you something other than that :o Or at the least put your name (whatever you want to be called) in your signature :)

I apologize for not having done that yet.  I actually thought I had.  Nothing much worse than not knowing who you're talking to.  Thanks for brining it to my attention!  In order to redeem myself a bit, I haven't been on top of things the way I try to be because of a horrible toothache.  You would think someone who works in medicine would be the first one in a dental office, but that is the LAST place I want to go.  ~~sigh~~  You all have a wonderful day!  Ana D.

Hi Ana!

Oh I'm sorry you're having dental issues, it's no fun I know. :o And usually medical people are the worst at getting fixed for a medical issue. Funny huh? hehe

I see you are a kitty person. Nice baby! He or she? I have 3 cats and a kitten (no, I'm not an animal horder lol). I have a red macheral tabby maine coon mix and a short haired tuxedo. Then my youngest moved back home after being out for 2 years and she brought a black and white japanese bobtail and a black and white shorthair.

The bobtail and maine are both big boys, the tuxedo is about 12 and the queen and still doesn't get along with the baby. But I love them all! My yard is too small for a dog.

Well, glad to meet you and welcome Ana!

Absolutely, medical people make the WORST patients.  Don't EVER try to be the personally assigned nurse of an MD when they are admitted to the hospital.  You talk about HORROR!  Sheer horror.  heehee

Kitties, kitties, kitties, we have kitties and 2 dogs.  We too, have a Maine Coon by the name of Roger.  Roger has the sweetest little tiny voice....all 19 pounds of him.  LOL  He is a big lover boy.  The one in the picture is one we lost not too long ago, his name was Sylvester.  A precious boy.  He developed a liver tumor and left us way too soon.  I don't get over losing my babies, I just don't.  They are God's gift to us.  The most faithful love a human being can ever get on this earth is from their pets.  I truly believe that.

So, we have 3 kitties and 2 dogs right now.  Whose to say that might not change over the weekend.  We are true suckers for orphans and have been known to foster many and we end up getting attached to them before we find them homes and to keep me from crying and wringing my hands my husband just gives up and says I can keep 'em.  heehee

I agree, my kitties (actually all animals) are God's gift to us. I have a hard time saying no to those babies. And I absolutely hate it when people are cruel to them.
My biggest boy was my Maine- Two Socks, he was 17 1/2 pounds and alllll fur. Him and I bonded so deeply that I still miss him. Of all the animals I have ever had I miss him the most. I had him cremated, and had his 4 paws imprinted in clay forever. He was my best friend. He was 8 when he died of a blockage that exploded. The vet even did a 911 crash-cart on him but they couldn't save him. Neko, my red Maine is ok... but I'll never find another like Two Socks. Love all my babies.

OMGoodness, that is so sad.  If something happens to my Roger I will just die right along with him.  I know that sounds crazy, but he is absolutely unconditional love.  He's this huge massive kitty but his little voice is so tiny, it's almost comical the way he sounds when looking at him.  We lost a kitty to feline leukemia  last Thanksgiving.  It was just horrible too.  He was so precious.  He was a Siamese mix and was my husband's baby.  We rescued him and the vet seems to think  he had the leukemia for a while.  We always give our babies ALL of their shots immediately upon getting each one and we are vigilent in between vaccinations to make sure they  get all the preventative medicine as well.  This past summer was something else for fleas for dogs and kitties.  It was  the worst I had ever seen and our vet even agreed.  He said it was bad because of the extra cold winter we had in this part of the country and the extended winter season last year.  We tried the Revolution which ALWAYS worked before but the babies were ALL still miserable and it didn't work at all on any of them.  We ended up using this new tablet they have for dogs called "Comfortis" and the "Vectra" neck solution for the kitties.  Within  1 hour of giving the dogs the tablet they had fleas coming out from ALL OVER THE PLACE....they looked like Dalmations.  I kid you not.  Within 15 minutes of giving the kitties their doses of Vectra applied to their  necks they had them crawling out from everywhere.  I just felt HORRIBLE when I saw how many fleas they  still had on them from the first treatments we did.  Not trying to be an advertisement for either thing, but when something works and works well, I like to share the information.

You liked the Vectra? I have some here, but have not put it on my kitties yet. I worked at a vet's office last year and got about a years worth free. :)

I'm not sure we have Vectra here. I might have to ask the vet. Luckily we have not had a boom year for ticks and flees in my area. My cat Neko seems to be ok. And I don't have any flee bites from them tagging along on him and coming into the house. And that is a nightmare in itself!
My husband has a buddy that used tto travel with his poor old dog. She had flees and she was allergic to the flee saliva so most of her hair was gone, poor thing. Anyway, she was in our home at night for 3 nights and we got totally infested with flees. Cost us over $600 for all the stuff we had to do and buy to eliminate them. That includes 2 trips to the vet for flee dips for the 2 cats (we only had 2 at that time thank goodness). And bites on me... OMG! It was terrible. My DH and his buddy got in an arguement and they didn't speak for 2 years. All is forgiven now but it was pretty bad.
