**HELP - how do I install joints? **
Permalink

I am new to reborning, and I just got a Berenguer full-limb kit to practice on and it has a sharp lip, so to speak, after the flange that would fit in the body, so I am assuming I need to use some sort of joint?  I have NO clue how to install joints (like the non-pop joints sold on ebay or reborn supply stores). I only know about sticking the vinyl limb in the body, adjusting the cable tie and that is it.

I've been scouring the internet to find information and pictures on this subject, but can't find anything to help.confuse I'm stumped!

1) When should you use joints on a kit?
2) Can you use them on any kit?
3) How do you know what size to use?
4) Does a special doe suede body need to be ordered?

Thanks for any ideas or advice! biggrin

Hi Brianna and welcome to our forum!!!!  We are truly happy you are here.

I am a Berenguer dealer and have full-limbed Berenguer kits in stock.  Those come with a non-jointed cloth body so I'm not certain I understand your question.  If it's a full limb kit, you shouldn't need joints unless you are sewing a body and using joints for more flexibility rather than attaching the limbs directly to the body and allowing them to rotate.

The only place in the forum that we are allowed to post photos is the Artist Showcase section.  It would be so much easier to help if you will post a photo or two of the flange and the doll kit so I can see exactly what you have.

There is a body that you can use for Berenguer Dolls and Peterkins, it is a Mindy by Donna Ru Bert Body, go to artist show case and I will see if I have one that I have made up on a Peterkin. You make body up as normal and make round circles that fit the end of the arms and legs, plse the joint into it and the throught the body, putting on washes and the seal washes. XXXXX June.
