I was wondering what some other member do with the palms and soles of ther babies. Do they use the same color as thier mottling or do you use a different lighter color?   What colors do you use?

I haven't done mottling yet! I am curious to know what it is?

Mottling is when you take a different color and apply it with a see sponge or a sponge (the kind you use for dishes) and sometimes you use the color of the baby's skin and or sometimes use the Blush as a mottling look? did I get it right? lol I was doing a search on it. Because I am taking the next step and trying to create a realistic baby, I know the three I did look real. But I guess I am looking for the ultimate realistic look... if I made any since... lol..
Please correct me if I am wrong...I would rather know if I was wrong than be let alone an find out that I was not correct. thanks ladies

Your right! Some babies have more mottling, blotchiness blushing than others. I think the older they get the less noticable it is.

Wish I could tell you what color I use for the palms and soles.  I am one of those who is constantly mixing to create skin tone variation.  I always intend to take better notes.   I tried writing the "recipe" down on paper, but got carried away and then forgot what color steps I took.

Also the color I might mix for a darker complexion baby may vary from the one that would look more natural with a lighter skinned baby.

Basically, I try to mix a color that was once explained to me as being the color of blood--only very transparent so it doesn't look too red when applied.  Some colors I might mix:  Genesis Pyrrole Red 02 with a dot of Pthalo Blue 03 and Burnt Umber.  Sometimes I skip that mixture and use Quinicridone Crimson 01 as the base.

Since I'm using ADP, I just use a combination of the darker creasing paint, and a tiny bit of the flesh highlighter or the lighter blush, either one.

If I am doing a caucasian baby, it's just the flesh color and then the blush I use for all over the baby for mottling and blusing.
If I'm doing a bi-racial or AA baby, then it's a fleshtone and the same blush color. Since the feet and palms are lighter on them I still feel that the same blush works for all. :)

I use the blushing as well but miine sometimes either comes out too light or too dark. I like the pinkish look but can't get that yet.

OKay I have a question about the palms and soles. I see on alot of babies a creamy flesh color all over their palms and fingers toes as well. Well how does everyone accomplish this without over lapping the nailbed or leaving "pores" by pouncing? I need you master the hands and feet. I see some videos where they brush the paint on all over then pounce but wouldn't this still leave pores? I tried the dry mop brush but that seems to remove the paint.
