the bf and i were discussing evacuation plans due to the start of hurricane season approching , i said my important papers, laptop, paints, mohair and kits. he thinks thats wacky but gosh the money i have in those i'd better take them. what do you think ......what would you take? sage
I would, like you said they are quite costly and sentimental. I remember about two years ago we had a threat of tornados touching down here and one of my thought after of course my families safety, irreplacable items (family pics, videos ect) were "how am I going to get all my dolls together" LOL
MY two dogs two Laptop of course the kits (hehe) and the finished ones, they were hard work the first time..... and My list could get longer as time goes on... But for now that's it for me.... the secret is out now!!!

A lot of my stuff is down in the basement anyway. So I'd chase my 4 cats down there (my daughter brought her 2 with her when she moved back home), daughter, then laptop, good jewelry, and mohair. I guess if I had more time I would bring the kits. My "babies" would definately go down before the kits. Paints are in the basement room already.
I don't live in FL any more so thank goodness hurricanes aren't an issue. It's still a good idea to think about what I would take if I had to evacuate. I would take exactly what you all mentioned:
Important papers
laptop
camera
irreplaceable photos
dolls
as many doll kits as I could carry
as many doll supplies as I could carry
I'd probably end up leaving the doll kits if I had to get out fast. I think I would need a U-Haul to carry the dolls & kits. I have lots of vintage Cabbage Patch dolls, too. (Okay so the CPKs were a phase, but they are still cute.)

We never have tornados or hurricanes here but I guess they must warn me long before the time to get all my dolly stuff packed. I am so addicted to dollmaking I wouldn't survive without them. Maybe we are wacky LOL
I'd get the kids, cats, important papers, cell and bank card, family genealogy case, bubs and supplies (located in one spot thankfully) and my modem. It is true, this is quite an investment to just let it get washed away. To much work and tlc to leave it behind. That was a good question.
