I hope they start taking orders again, too. I need some needles, but just hope Elena is doing okay.

Ok wow. Time to update this thread for sure. I can't believe how different he looks now. I am only moments away from finally finishing him. I have to seal his hair (I can't find my hemostats to swab the glue in) and put his body together. THEN he will be done. I wanted to show off the progress as well.
Lots of closeups, and I hope you can see the texturing finish on him. I opted NOT to tip the nails, but I think they look pretty good just with a shine on them.
Let me know what you think, and let me know if the link doesn't work.
Glad you like him!! I LOVE him. My mom asked if I was going to sell him. He's my first one, so no. He's mine specifically. Of course, I'm rather attached to all my kits.... I need to buy kits when they're cheap, just not because I like them....lol
Well, he's from a company called Bloomers n Bows, that's now out of business. They shut down when the owner passed away. I did finish another doll, a mini kit, but when I got her completely finished, I noticed she had a HUGE mark on her leg....must have rubbed off from something nearby....and I got upset and stripped her.
If you're looking for great sales, try BB. They're always having kits for $15 and up. (US price) If you don't know that one, PM me and I'll tell you. Or you can join AWRAF (if you haven't already) and go from there. The link's in my sig.
But thanks on the kind words! I'm rather impressed with him.
Oh, Liselle... if I only could! But BB doesn't want to ship to Croatia, I asked them already :( If I had someone in USA to ship to me, that would be great, but I don't (and it sucks!) It really bothers me, because I have an eye on some great kits and supplies I can't get my paws on. I do have some BB kits from random Ebay sales and I love them, as well as Secrist bodies and eyes (no kits yet!), but it would be great to buy stuff directly from their shop and all at once. It would save a ton on shipping.
Don't give up on the mini :) I have a mini kit as well (have no idea which one, could even be Secrist - it was a gift from a lady that sold me my Kadence), and I messed it up with a wrong thinner, but I'll get back to it when I finish my next project :)
Yeah! I must admit I'm pretty dissapointed by the way they refused me, even when I said I was a serious buyer and willing to spend a lot in their store. They ship to all the countries surrounding Croatia. I guess I'll have to wait until we're in the European Union :/
But, I manage. Yesterday I finally find a lady that changed her ebay auction so she could ship to me a kit I wanted for a long time :) Thanks to a lot of kind people, I finally collected all the supplies I need. And am proud to say I'm the first Croatian reborner rookie :)
I wish there was some way I could help you get kits from BB. They're always having AWESOME sales!!
Update on David Michael:
Looks like glue is dry...I brushed his hair and only a tiny bit came out as opposed to the amount that came out before gluing. Hopefully tomorrow is the day I get to put him together....I'm so nervous!! :) His "birthday" is almost here!!!
Quick question though. How do I know the amount of glue I used is enough for his head? I used quite a bit of E6000 and smeared it around with hemostats (forceps) and a cosmetic wedge. LOOKS like it got all of it.
Yes, I joined yesterday, and I found my account was approved just a moment ago :) Exploring the forum now!
Don't worry about BB. I'm sure they'll add Croatia as soon as we're in the European Union, and until then, I'll have fun with the kits and dolls I've collected over the last few months. And of course, keep an eye on some bargains on ebay :)
As far as glueing goes, I'm not sure - I didn't glue dolls hair yet, only used a tiny amount for eyelashes (clear tacky glue) and e6000 for magnet in dolls mouth. When I glue the hair, I'll probably use original tacky glue.
