Wow really oily. So far I've been lucky enough to avoid the oily kits. Crossing my fingers. =)

It's Jamie all right.  Jamie makes a really cute baby so you'll have fun working on your new, non-oily kit.

Yep, Jamie for sure!
That one is definately more oily than most of mine! YUCK>
And don't store them all in the same area and take any oily ones out of the bunch. It kinda looked like it spread with mine. And try to take them out of the shipping plastic. I don't think it helps.

SEcrists will replace oily kits, just go to Secrists admin send pics so they can see, normally to save on post they ask you to cut off a thumb , each hand toes, both feet, and ear. Number each kit, that is oily with permanent marker, ( I sent my four kits back and they replaced them) but by marking and posting pics, it will save you postal costs. These kits where made from a different firm to the ones being made now, they put too much release agent in the vinyl, that is why they go oily. Even after they are heat set painted the oil still comes through. I have some thast I made my girls, they don't want to part with them so I tell them to use baby wipes every so often to clean them. Hope this isn't too long winded and you have the answers you are looking for. Do not by older kits off ebay, buy from secrists. XXXXXX June.

I'm sorry, but that is absolutely BS! The seller is obviously trying to sell oily kits! Say away from that one please!
How rediculous!

Thanks for that info June.

Ya they want to make sure:
1. that the kit/parts are actually oily
2. that you don't get replacements and sell the oily kits on evilbay or to any unsuspecting buyer.

I'll say!

I "have" some oily kits so I know. And... I have been with Secrist/AVDW for over 20 years so I know what's what!

I will NOT sell anyone those kits. I am doing an experiment with them. I washed them in hot soapy Dawn dish detergent and dried them. So far the oilies have not returned. I will keep them till summer and paint some of them. Then keep them till next year and see how they do. If they get oily again, I wiill just use them for test kits but will not sell them.

What a lowlife creepy liar! I'm sorry but I just had to say that. I'm going to turn the link over to Secrist and let them deal with this scammer!

I contacted her to let her know that she is misrepresenting the product, and that it's vinyl not rubber. And that NO doll manufacturers ever put oil or anything on their product to keep it soft. I also let her know that Secrist was advised of what she said. So, we'll see.

I let Secrist know that obviously, as you said, she doesn't seem to know anything about dolls or parts. I told her that hopefully some newbie won't buy it and her have to give a refund because it's basically damaged goods. Looks like she only has 2 of them and someone put a BO on one of them. Poor buyer.
I mean you CAN buy it and wash it in hot grease busting dishwater but then you have to entirely seal it and hope it doesn't come through. But I'd rather get a good one instead of going through all that just to save a buck. JMHO.
