One of my good freinds bought a vinyl doll out of one of the stores around here. With the idea she can touch up the face that is poorly painted. It has glass eyes in it. If she repaints the face and uses a heat gun will she ruin the eyes?I have no clue. Thanks for any help you can give me. Have a good day!
June may be correct on that one. The heat gun actually gets about 400 degrees F + and if a sudden temperature change hits the eyes they could break or fracture. I agree, the oven may be your best bet.
Is it a reborn or just a poorly painted doll? Unusual for a commercial vinyl doll to have glass eyes, that's why I asked if it's a reborn.

all my babys have been rescue(used) dolls, i use to bake my babys until i got a heat gun. i have not had a problem with their eyes so far. because of the large area the hot air covers you don't need to point the gun right at the eye's.this is just my experiance---- if you try it or not might depend on the cost of the baby. we baked my daughters zombie baby and is eyes started to melt so it's a risk ether way. sage ps. baby in pics is a blinky eyed doll that i'm reborning
Unless it is a reborn doll, I haven't heard of a vinyl play doll with glass eyes. I'm curious to know what the brand is.
I suppose the safest way to protect the eyes is to remove them.
