Andrea, the link isn't working, but I'm pretty sure I remember seeing Samuel and thought he was so cute. Best of luck! I would love to see someone win that I know!
I entered the contest, too, but had a lot of trouble with the photo quality. I am in desperate need of a decent camera. My doll is Molly and she's the Erin sculpt. http://reborncontest.com/users/playdaysdolls

Yes, the voting has begun, so it's too late to enter. Sorry.

Where is the mention of the contest on here, I can't find it anywhere? Does anyone know who to talk to about it? I entered a 6 inch mini before the deadline and it will not let my photo show up, it was approved and everything! Tried emailing, I got one reply and they were supposed to fix it, but now only gets me "out of office" responses. Seems that there are other entrants with issues as well. So I don't feel alone on this. For those that aren't having problems Good Luck! The babies that show are cuties.
Best of luck to everyone entered. I too missed out =( busy year for me then with Christmas and preparing for the new baby's arrival this month not much time for reborning!
Thank you for the dolly compliments! They mean a lot to me.
Andrea... your Samuel is showing up on the Top Babies page!!!!!!!
Judie, what is your baby's name? Is is Hailee????? I see a 6" mini with that name that has just shown up in the #30 spot on the Top Babies page. If not... send us the link to your profile page so we can look to see if we've spotted your baby. I hadn't seen mine when rating babies, but that's to be expected as they do not let us vote for our own dolls.
And... wouldn't it be fabulous if one of us on the forum could at least be among the top dolls? To me it would be exciting and a testament to how wonderful this forum is.
Another question.... When you are rating babies, do you see the same babies over and over with a new one in the rotation occasionally? I don't understand why we are asked to rate the same babies over and over again.

I think part of the thing is that people have entered the same baby in different poses and paid fees for that. Instead of that they should have just added the different poses of the one baby to their profile. So that's why I think some of the same babies look like they're getting voted on because they are, just in a different pose. I entered my students little "JP" (Gumdrop) and I only entered him once but went back in and put lots of poses on his profile in the photo album page. I don't think Secrist has much control on how set-up of the contest runs. It's all done by an outside source.
I agree with you that instead of paying fees on one baby for each pose, they should have allowed each baby to be entered one time with other poses included. I think it's sort of strange to be voting over and over on the same baby.
Maybe... it's not one baby but identidal quintuplets or something? LOL.
Secrist probably doesn't have control of the programming behind the website. They probably chose the web application and set the options for how the program would work. I just wonder if they know about the problem of the same dolls showing up over and over. I wouldn't even know if I had voted for all the dolls because of seeing the same images over and over. It just feels sort of broken to me. I think page that lists all the entries would have been really helpful.

Yes, you found her!!! I found and voted for Molly too! The 6 inch baby Hailee is mine. she wasn't showing up at first, but we finally got it straightened out! She seems to be losing ground rapidly. That wasn't my default photo but since they got her to show up I didn't want to change it and lose her again.
Ohhhh Andre, I voted for your little Samuel too! He is adorable. I couldn't get your link to work on here but I had already found him! I just realized that was you!!!

I'm holding my peach tea flavored water. Can we just pretend it's something more appropriate for toasting? Here's to good luck in the contest for our dolls.

Linda, Secrist did say in their adverts that you put in your doll first, then later you can add many poses to that one without paying another fee. You just go back to your page and log in, then you put in more poses at no cost. It's only if you want to add a different baby altogether that you pay another fee. That's what I did with my students baby JP. I put him online, paid for him and then went back on a few occassions and put more pics of him in but it didn't cost me more, just the original $5.
So people who put in different poses of the same doll and paid the $5 for those shouldn't have done it that way. You only pay if it's a different doll. Secrist can't help if people did it wrong. I may have to let them know that thats what happened. or maybe they'll see it for themselves.
I wish I had put my babies in, even with no hair. I was thinking about doing Kelly as a boy with painted hair but there wasn't enough time to paint hair or root it for me!!! And I have 1 final exam for school on Tues, and then finishing up a bunch of carved waxes and making some rings for the final projects by Thurs! YIKES!!! And those are for Spring semesters classes. I got all my repairs finished up last week. There were 18 of them, all the way from fixing a tiny silver chain to putting an entire bottom on a mens ring and new prongs on a 6 prong ring with the stone in it! I have 8 waxes to carve, 2 small square plates to put stones in, and 9 rings to finish! I'm taking an incomplete in 2 classes and those are with my mentor, John. WHEW!! I hope I survive the week. Plus we're doing pot-luck in all 4 of my classes so that includes making a dish to share. I think I'll just bake cookies for Mon. Tues and Wed I'm bring home made Lebkuchen (German Christmas bread), and for Thurs maybe a hotdish. I just need to pray for strength (and lots of stamina!!! lol). And I still have to find time to vote for babies!
Yes, there is a winner. You can go look at the contest place to see it.

As far as I know, the honorable mention babies have not yet been announced.
I don't know how many entries were competing. I thought it was confusing because there were several instances of the same doll entered multiple times.
I'll check the website frequently and let you know when the honorable mention babies are announced.

Maybe I'll just have to e-mail the office to see when the new mag is coming out and when the HM's will be posted. hehehe I got that mohair and you'll just LOVE it!! I'm usually partial to my own angora goat hair but this stuff rivals even that. You can see my babies in the artist showcase with their hair (still not done rooting) in the thread called "trying to get ahead" lol.
Thank you Pat I have twin dolls arriving they have just passed customs so looking forward to trying out the Secrist mohair and am looking forward to the magazine as well I have seen your dolls hair on the showcase and it looks good to me I am just on my way to work I must have a look at your website when I get home I work for a company called Freedom Wigs that is what I do making wigs mainly for people whom have a condition called alopecia cheers for now Joy:o)

Oh I can't wait to see what your twins look like! Which ones did you get? What color mohair did you get for them? I think that's great that you make wigs for people with alopecia. My nephew has that and so does someone in my class at college. I think they need a new wig though as the one they always wear is kinda big and it's always in this persons face. But since they have no lashes or brows maybe they want it that way so people don't stare. I don't think anyone else has noticed which is ok too.
I haven't updated my site in a while so I don't have everything up yet or changed but feel free to stop by :)
Hi Pat the twins I am getting are Hanni and Nanni by Nel de Man the mohair is dark brown Angelic secrist it will be the first time I have used this mohair the eyes are Lauscher German hand made very expensive but I think will be well worth it Our company has a website for wigs just google freedon wigs and there is about 4 sites we have agencies all over the world we are classed as one of the best in the world you can swim or even go out in a hurricaine with one of these wigs on and it will not come off they suck onto your head like a vacuum they are made up of silicon and real human hair and you cannot tell the difference from the real thing I am so proud to work for this company as it is so rewarding to be part of making a difference to someone's life oh well I have blabbered on enough better go cheers Joy

I'll have to go check out what the twins look like by someone else just so I can see them lol I just love the AT mohair from Secrist. My avatar baby has the blonde (which is in progress, the rest of his head is bald so far lol). Be sure to wet some of the mohair to make sure it's colorfast BEFORE you start rooting with it. There are some posts on how to test in forum, just use the search feature, it's faster. The had a bad batch some time ago but got it fixed but you never know. I always test mine from everyone!
Those wigs sound fabulous for those people. I presume that cancer patients also get them. That would be nice till their hair grows in if they don't want to do the hat/bandana thing. I'm glas you can make a difference in someones life.
"life is not about how you weathered the storm... it's about how you danced in the rain!" I just love this quote!

Sorry I made a mistake the Hanni and Nanni twins were sculpt by ELISA MARX we don't do a lot of cancer patients as their hair will grow back and you need to be complety bald to wear these sort of wigs thanks for the tip on the mohair great Quote do you have any idea when the honourable mentions will be announced?
