Ivy your quads are beautiful, I looked at your profile I did not know that you were so young you are very talented keep doing what you are doing you can only get better.
Thank you so much for commenting on my quads Dee. I really didn't notice how bad my pictures are, the mottling on here is way too defined on these pictures, it's not that noticable in real life. And the nails and lips aren't that white or red. however, i used the sweetheart rose paints this time. the bush (i was alittle upset when i got it because it was only half-full and i use more blush than anything, but it is the new kind that is suppost to be more transparent so you use less of it....) , is the color of blood if you put it on very thick, but turns a nice pink after spreading it out some. i also learned that baby tears should NOT be spread on thick or it will turn white. And babytears can be used as glue to apply eyelashes and make eyes moist at the same time. i enjoy doing what i do and it not only makes me really happy, it makes so many other people happy too. i can't wait to begin my next doll, Baby Lulu by adrie stoete. New goals for her will be inserting eyes and creating an asian flesh tone for her. CAN'T WAIT!
I can't wait to see lulu, I love the Noel sculpt by Adrie I really want to make her but I can't afford it right now, I am planning a baby shower for my first grandchild, I have been spending money on him when I see sales I can't help myself hehehe.
they are soooo cute. I agree..when I see my pictures all blow up it scares me at times. lol I love the names you chose for them. Oh...I would love to do one of Adrie's dolls. I just am afraid I'd goof it up or something.

Thanks ladies for all of the comments! i'm really excited to start Lulu. it's just that she is alittle pricey and i still haven't gotten my christmas shopping done, so i think i'll start her after the holidays. my goals this time are the asian skin tone and insterting the eyes! YIKES!
The eyes are VERY easyto do. I found that instead of using a scalpel, I just take a small (good) pair of scissors and I just clip the inside of the eye pocket where it's very thin. It just opens and there's no chance of slipping up and cutting yourself. Or to put them in from the front I find means they are a bit loose. You can put the packing right up next to them and that holds them in place. I usually just clip the sack and then glue it when I'm glusing the hair inside. If you ever need any help..come in here and I'm sure someone will be able to guide you.

thanks Aviva, but i'm not so sure that Lulu even comes with eyes in her, so i'll have to buy some and i'm nervous about messing up the placement of them.
You won't mess them up. When you get them in, hold the head up so that a light shines in the eyes and then just move them until the light reflection is in the same spot. It's not hard at all and if you use the size it says to use, then usually they fit in very snug. Just relax and have fun. After they are they way you want..then glue them in using a popsicle stick. You've done things a lot harder than eyes for sure. :o)

i can't even begin to tell you how long it took to pick their names. while, at lunch with one of my best friends, we sat there eating pizza and writting down our top four favorite names starting with each letter of the alphabet. after jotting all of the names down, we spent hours into the night at our sleepover trying to finally pick between the last two groups of names. i was the one who chose in the end and we spent the next morning making wild mis-matching bracelets with their names on along with some cute diaper covers that i'm planning to put on them after i finish knitting their tiny t-shirts! can't wait!
OMG you are knitting their clothes???? You can knit? Dang...you got it going on gurl!! I also thought that the little title of (4 P's in a Pod) was extremely clever. I never even thought of naming them. You should be proud of your acomplishments. My grandaughter is 16 and I wished I could get her interested in doing the dolls. She has a boyfriend that just turned 20 or will be his next birthday (I do not approve of the age difference) and I gave her a doll for her birthday (16) and when her BF was there, she really didn't even take the doll out of the little bed I had for her. When I asked her about it, she said she didn't want to mess her up. I really got my feelings hurt. My son's girlfriend picked up her's immediately and started crying while just touching him and his hair like it was truely a real infant and then she hugged me and thanked me for making such a beautiful doll (BTW it was ZOE) and she loved it. I was thinking I wished I had gotten some kind of response from my grand daughter. I asked her which she wante4d the doll or a very pretty piece of jewelry (gold neclace with thre pink saphires and diamond in a key pendant. She said to give me what I wanted to give her. Of course she knows she's getting the other thing for her next b. day. or for grad. present. I thought it would be beautiful for the Senior Prom. I thought maybe she didn't want her BF to think she likes dolls.??? maybe. Oh yeah..something really cute is that my younger grand daugter got on the phone and said "Hey grandma Vivian...when I get old and big like Mandy, could you please make me one of those babies? Mandy and Malissa let me carry their dolls around some and I do really good so I'll like for you to make me one too..will youz?????" Now speed that last sentence up about 3 times more than normal and you will know how Brook talks. She's 9. So anyway I'm giving her one of my Morgan babies for Christmas.

yes, one year for christmas my nana got me one of the knifty knitter loom knitting kits, and i just love it! i've been cranking out all kinds of things, if you look at my little evan travis (my avatar baby) he is wearing a pair of green pom-pom slippers that i knitted. i really like how fast and easy it was to knit like that! i really enjoy it!
thank you so much for commenting on my title, i just wanted something to get people's attention, so they could look at my dolls! i'm very happy to hear about your grandaugter is interested in your dolls, my little sister who is the same age is always asking to carry some around. i know she will love one of your morgan babies, since you are already so good at reborning!! sorry to hear about your other grandaughter, some people, most of the time teenagers, aren't big fans of dolls, but i've always had, and mostly likely always will now with this awesome hobby!
thanks again for all of the things you teach people on this forum, and mostly for being such an understanding artist, even when i do ask some lame questions. i always look forward to coming on here everyday! i sometimes call it my chores! well, until the next doll is done, i'll be replying to other topics! thanks again :)
Aviva, I'm sure your granddaughter didn't mean any harm. At that age (especially with a boy in the picture) they all seem a bit "mature" afraid to show the child in them. Thinking back on 16 I pretty much acted the same way around my steady guy. Course back then it was the cabbage patch dolls, but once he went home, I got them out. I'm sure she's enjoying her new baby when she alone.
oh thanks Tina. I'm sure she likes the doll. When she saw the doll in a picture she said "on...that's the one I love...as soon as I saw her I knew that I loved her" The I found a picture of her when she was little and compared them and sent them out and everyon got fooled thinking it was the same baby in two picture...I wonder if the likeness caused the "I loved her"?? I might have put it in here..not sure. It was little Gumdrop.

I'm so jealous that you can knit, Ivy!!!!! I wish I could do that, but I'm all thumbs and can never remember the knit from the pearl. Or, is it purl? Oh well... you get the picture. Anyway, I think it would be such fun to be able to knit cute little things for the dolls.
I wonder if my granddaughter will have had enough of my dolls once she gets older. I hope not, but she is exposed to them every day so they will probably not be a big deal by the time she's a teenager.
At 2-1/2, Katy loves the dolls--especially, the ones that are as large or larger than she is. She thinks my Patty Play Pal is her friend. When she saw the Micah and Stacy toddler kits on the shelf, she asked me to paint them right away so they can be friends. Do you think too many dolls can cause psychological problems later in life? But then again, she is also friends with her toy horses, puppy, etc.
