Abby, I love your babies--all of them! How did you learn to sculpt like that? Did you make the clothing for the minis?

Thanks Linda. I taught myself to sculpt, I started about 3 1/2 years ago after a read a book on sculpting with polymer clay. I tried doll house figures for a while then tried babies and just fell in love with it. Yes i do make the clothes for the minis, glad you like them
Since you don't reborn (although you do paint your sculpts right?) you may want to put your "sculpts" in the artist showcase but under the "show us your sculpts" section instead since it is devoted expecially to the sculpting aspect of making dolls. Just a thought. :)
Whoops, sorry! I didn't realise there was such a section, next time I will post there. Could you move it there? i do paint my sculpts yes, in much the same way as with reborning.

I say anyone who can sculpt after reading a book on the subject has an innate talent.
And you sew the outfits for the minis! (Pat, does the forum have a section for outfitting / accessories?) I think it's more difficult to sew tiny things.
Do you create your own patterns?

Aw, thank you are Aviva & Linda, you girls are lovely My babies aren't that expensive, I know of one arist who charges £1200 for a portrait sculpt, i'd never dream of overcharging like that. My little ones are always fairly cheap too if you want a less expensive ooak Aviva
I do make the outfits for the little ones but i don't have patterns, it's pretty hit & miss really! Sometimes i customise real baby clothes, use bits of trim etc. so I don't have to do all the sewing, but i'll be the first to admit my sewing isn't that great! You can get away with being fairly rubbish at sewing when making smaller clothes lol! Anyway, i have posted my latest work in progress in the right place if anyone wants to look!! Abby x
do you ever do mini portrait???? Darn it...I'm trying to figure out something here. I don't even know if I have any baby pictures of my kids. I have some old super 8 mm films I've been wanting to have them editied and put on a DVD or something. That would be great if I could. I've thought of trying to do a mini latdly but I'm so far in debt over this hobby that I've got to move some of these dolls. I've thought of flea market...might be good since Xmas is coming soon.. I'm going to list my Stephanie S. quads on the realistic reborn site.

Linda, Not specifically. They would go in the for sale topic. I agree, they are precious
