I've finished my latest sculpt, it's newborn sized 19", I still can't decide wether to have this one as a boy or a girl, what do you think? I've finally finished this little bub, still can't decide if it's a boy or a girl though, what do you think?
Well I'm undecided, I like her as both, I love her in the little pink dress. But then I think as a little boy with the blue cap, Give it a unisex name, Like Lesley, Dion, Charlie, there are quite a few. Either way, you have a beautiful sculpt. XXXXX June.
i also like it as a boy. i tried sculping a 6" and the limbs looked good but the head nomader how many time i tried the head always came out looking like E.T.
Okay....I don't know.......I think the unisex name would be the way to go. I would probably be the type that would buy two and do one as a boy and one as a girl..lol That way I wouldn't have to decide. You are very GOOOOD. When I saw Lawrence I thought..."no baby could have that big of cheekc....well..you sure fooled me. I was looking at the actual baby and making comments to mom thinking it was the sculpt. LOLOLOLOL...I would love to have you do my children when they were babies. I just don't have hardly that many pictures and poor Joey...He just didn't get his pic. taken much at all since his brother was 22 mo. old when Joey was born and then I was pg again when Joey was 5 mo.. So...who the heck had time to take pictures??? Then I learned a little trick. Always have a camera loaded and ready to take pictures at any moment. I chose the top of the fridge. I found the 'surprise pictures were ALWAYS the best. Like Terry (8 mo.) getting into the closet where I kept the vacuum cleaner and he put the end of the tube in his mouth (I know...eek!!) amd would make a "wooooo" noise. Wow..what a cute picture I got. And then Joey found the camera hiding place (top of fridge...still lol and at this time I had already had Rick when Joey was 12 mos. and lost him...now this would be about 1 or so months until Terry would come into this world..joey was 28 mo. when Terry came/a?? I think.hah) Anyway...I don't know how many are still following this mess of writing..Joey surprised me by taking a picture of ME off guard. Funny...the picture is from the top of my belly to half way of thighs (??? my brain is not working right..sorry) anyway..it's so cute being taken from that position showing how tall Joey was. I love it. I call it the first picture of Terry taken by his bigger brother Joey in June of l973. Terry was born July 1, l973 5- 1/2 weeks early 4 lbs 13 1/2 inches. Well darn it...how did i get onto that.....ARGHHHHHHH.... I LOVE YOUR WORK ABBY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!girl or boy.

Hee hee, i did follow , I love a good ramble!! I take pics of my joard when i remember, my 3 yr old always runs away when she sees the camera though!! Well, anytime you feel ready to have a portrait done I'm always happy to oblige, all it really needs is one good photo (although more is handy!) It's so nice to hear that you like my work, maybe one day i will get 'discovered' and then I will get to see my babies in vinyl...sigh..i can dream lol!!
I honestly think this baby works equally well as a boy or a girl.... Since there seem to be fewer boys sculpted / reborn, maybe you should make it a boy.
I think you might want to do some research if you seriously consider using the name Lesley as Lesley is a girl! LOL....
I have a daughter named Lesley. Before we chose the spelling for her name, we consulted the popular baby name books. Her name is spelled with the "ey" ending because it was defined as the feminine spelling. As a sort of confirmation... we noticed some celebrities with the name like Lesley Anne Warren and Lesley Stahl (60 Minutes).
Leslie was defined as the masculine spelling.
Since then...I've notice a majority of females with the name spell it "Leslie" (the previously defined masculine spelling). And, it has always been almost impossible to find personalized items for my daughter that have the name spelled like hers.
Most of the males with that name seem to spell it like the book indicated--Leslie.
I know I am rambling but wanted share the pitfalls of naming someone Lesley?

Thanks Linda!:) i don't think i could go with a neutral name anyway, i like my girls to be girly and my boys to be boyish!! I think I will make another girl and keep this little one as a boy, and i think i'm going to name him...Joseph!
Yay!! You pick a fantastic name. I love it and I used it on my second born son and he wears it well and it mean "God shall add to" and He has for Joseph has 4 children and might be getting 3 more step children before long. :) And don't forget Joey's first born was named Joseph Daniel. Nice huh?
