Thank you all. I think she is a little sweet thing also. I took her into Walmart and had the cashier coming over to hold her and there was quite a stir. Then at another store a lady came up and was just looking at her and I never like to go too long before telling them. She said 'She's just beautiful" and I said..she's a doll. Then she asked if she could hold her and I let her and she started checking her out all over..like going up her gown and looking at her legs and body slip etc. and then she asked 'how much would one go at this size and I said..around 140.00 or more..depending on her layette. She then said she was a doll collector and wanted to get my name and phone number and said she most likely will call and tell me what she would like....YIKES. Anyway I've already started another Faith and this one will be lighter complection and maybe red or blonde hair....I don't know and I won't until I have the paint cured and then comes the trying of of different colors. This second time around...it hasn't flowed so easily. I wonder why? Then after messing up my Step. Daughter's Shyann over some dark brown mohair..I got another head and then I'll be ^&^ if I didn't mess it up..will only with needing to fix the paint a bit, so I go and find some acetone fingernail wipes and they were red in color..figuring this meant nothing as it was a polish remover..well you guessed it...A BIG red wide stipe down the side of her face and I cannot get it off to save my life. grrrrrrrrrr rats. But...I'll get it done. I'm going to have to sell these babies....

I hate it when I try fixing one thing and end up making another mistake that is worse than the one I tried to fix. I feel for you, and I bet all of us have been there.
That is wonderful about the experience in the store. Are you nervous about the doll collector's comment that she may call for a doll? If so..t.ry to hand in there and enjoy the painting or rooting without thinking about whether this baby will be as good as the one she saw.. I know that's easier said than done.

It is such a nice thing when people come up to you and want to see your baby. Then once they know she's a doll, they still like her. I think it is good that that woman liked your baby enough to want to order one! I would go for it! Just take your time and let her know from the start what you can or cannot do. If your not sure of a request she's making....suggest something else that you are good at or comfortable doing. We all have to start some place. I can only hope mine will come out well enough that someone would want to buy one. Nice job!

You all are so nice and good suggestions for sure. I've only got the one order being Shyann...lol...and we know that I'm still working on it. It's so funny..some I can start and it goes like a breeze...no problems...just great. Then the next time it's like you are going in circles for 2 months and still not done. I will NOT give up..lol
I want to leave a post about mohair, but I want it where people will know about it.. Now you all do..right? okay..lol We will see where it turns up.

Hi Aviva! Go to the skin care section of any store and buy some "CLEARASIL" apply a thin coat to the red stripe. The next day wash it all off, then re-app;y. Keep doing that until all the red is gone.I am a long time doll collector and restorer.
Aviva, I know what you mean about some dolls just not going as well. I'm working on one now that I just can't seem to get right. I think it's because the sculpt just doesn't "speak" to me like the others have done. I'm putting her aside for awhile and hoping that when I pick her up again, I'll get a better feel. I'm working on a commission doll right now and am almost finished. It's a portrait doll, and I had no idea how hard it would be to find the right sculpt, get the color right (the photo is old and not very clear), and the rooting. Whew! I'm putting the eyes in now, so am almost finished. I'll deliver her this weekend, and I'm a little nervous about her reception. Wish me luck! Hugs, Melinda
