Happy To Report!

I guess they were right when they say there is always some good with the bad. I decided to use the head that was giving such problems as a test head. Before I started another kit I would conquer my 2 main issues so far, which was the shine and the 43 gauge single bard routing needle. I am happy to report with all of your support and advice I done away with the shine problem!! Even though I thought my arm was going to fall off from pouncing! LoL. And after 8 hours of routing I did come out with a nice swirl pattern with single hair routed. I have some that I messed up on that are doubled over because I didn't catch them close enough to the end, but I was happy. I just need to figure out how to break them up in a more natural pattern. My head looks like a pin cushion! I just wanted to let everyone know that all of their advice and support pushed me past my low point this week. Thanks so much. Alicia.biggrin

I found the instructions for the swirl on-line. It showed me step by step and in which direction to point the needle. Of corse I it out 2 or 3 times, but I felt a little more brave since I was using this head for practice now. And you all were right. Just lighten up and have fun. Try new things and see what happens. The only bad thing is that my eyes feel like they are crossed!! LoL.  Hope to hear from you soon. Alicia.smile

I found a lady on ebay who will either e-mail or send you a hard copy of the detailed instructions for rooting the swirl. It also goes into techniques on how to use the single barb rooting needles. Also rooting single strands of mohair to insure 1 hair at a time instead of 2 or 4 hairs! It is time consuming for me, but I am a beginner. For you it would go much faster. I thought it was while worth the $10.00. It has helped me more that any dvd that I watched on rooting. I had her send it to my e-mail. I got it with in 15 minutes after I paid. I am going to try to copy it out on paper so I can refer to it without having to turn my computer. It might might be fixed were that I can't though. I can get the item number if you are interested. Hope to hear from you soon. Alicia.smile

Hey Tina, I looked up the name and item number for you. The name is Crown Swirl Rooting Tutorial For Reborn Doll the item number is 130325697227. When you find it on ebay the price will say $22.00. DO NOT HIT THE BUY IT NOW OPTION!!! Go to the sellers about "me" page and that will take you to the link were you need to be at. From there you can decide if you want it sent to your e-mail or a hard copy sent by mail. I would e-mail it to you myself, but I do not know the rules about doing that on the forum. Anyway, it is well worth the money and I think you will be pleased with it. The lady that made the tutorial really knows how to make the hair look like it is growing right from the head! Hope this helps. Talk to you soon. Alicia.smile

You are right, you can't list it here but you can always pm it to people (like me!) and that would be fine :) but what you have put in your post is ok too.
