Ronel, In the first picture of the dolls together in the same crib, I would have sworn I was looking at real life babies! Thanks for sharing their pictures with us.

I bought the German fork needles and tried them out today. O my word... it is hard to work with them. No matter which way I turned the needle I was unable to root and end up with a lot of holes in the head.... and of cause I my bruised ego. Is there a secret how to use these needles, they driving me crazzzzzy. All I gained was a couple of new words to my vocabulary. BUT I WON'T GIVE UP!!!!!
'Andrea's Dream Babies: giving every mommy a chance to hold the babies of their dreams . . . forever.' See my website at: www.freewebs.com/andreasdreambabies
I had the same problem with those needles. I even bought a special handle for them that showed you the correct way of holding it. It's sitting over on the shelf collecting dust! I just couldn't get the hang of them either, and didn't need to add anymore new words to my vocabulary either! LOL
We must just get the knack of that needles. Hundreds of reborners using them.... I will take a good look at them and figure out how to operate them.(LOL)
Thank you Emily, it is nice of you to say that. aha ... you will love it indeed...I have put a heart beat in them, so when you hold them you can feel the heart beat.
i am also doing sam he is much bigger then to peige i wish i know how to make that colering on mine im still learning this is my 2 one that im doing. they are great.
Thank you Heather! I am sure your two babies will turn out lovely. Start with thin layers of paint, you can always add more paint. Take your time and enjoy what you are doing.
Ronel... you go girl! I wasn't really crazy about Sam and Sera but maybe I'll re-think that. I'm still waiting on my Honey to come in. But I'll definately think about adding them to my collection of kits to do (boy oh boy, I'm gonna need to live even more lifetimes now!)

Ronel, Once again you have done yourself proud. They make a lovely pair of twins, just wish I had the time and money to buy some more, but I do have 4, I haven't even started. We are shifting house and finding it hard to have places to put everything at the moment. Keep up the good work. XXXXXXX June.

Thanks Pat and June! I think my lifespan will also be too short. I still want to make Sugar, she is a darling. But I have to wait for my ship to sail in (hehe)
June, you have to find place for your dolls, you know they help us keep our sanity. I am glad Sam is one his way to recovering.
Your babies are gorgeous! I didn't get to comment the last time I was on as I only had limited time. I too saw the Sera and Sam sculpts. I thought of buying Sera but wasn't too crazy about her. Now seeing what you've done....she is wonderful! My kit has arrived (I bought the Lucy sculpt by Marissa May) and after seeing how small she is.....I'll tell you.....I have an even more appreciation for what you ladies do. I mean the babies look beautiful and you know that it takes great skill to make them look so real but when I actually see the "naked" sculpt....then I realize how far the artist has come to achieve that look. You all are so talented! I was frightened when I saw how small everything was (nose, eyes, toes, fingers) and wanted to just stop. My youngest child is now 10.5 years old so I've kinda forgotten just how small they were lol. I started thinking, "how do these ladies paint these little guys/gals? Oh my, can I really do this?" Then I saw the rooting needle and thought how on earth do you get the hair in with that! LOL I soon calmed down though and realized that with the video I'm going to get from Secrist, I'll be okay. If not, I always have you ladies to help me. Now I'm just praying that I can a good job and not mess her up too terribly.
Thank your for the compliment! You don't have to worry, we will guide you along the way if you struggle. I know how you feel. When I started out making dolls, I didn't even know there were forums and tutorials. I was all on my own, lost and confused. I struggled my way thru. I have learned the hard way.
My fist baby was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen ....well back then. ( they say beauty is in the eye of the beholder, LOL) Painting is the easiest part of reborning... wait till you have to face the needle job (hehe)
You talking about small... wait until you see the stunning 6" baby in the artist showcase, the lady did a super job on them, they are so small I can only admire her work. Can you imagine how small 6" are?
I will look out for you pics and i am sure you will do a stunning job on Lucy!
Thanks Ronel, I'll try my best. 6" eh? Hummm I couldn't do that. I tried to look at the showcase but am having a bit of a time. I'll figure it out shortly so I can have a look. I've done so much reading, viewing tutorials, and talking on forums. I hope something has stuck lol Hopefully it'll be fine. I will definately keep you posted. xo
How true, Ronel. I thought my first baby was nearly perfect, too. Now I look at her and wish I could create her all over again. I won't, but I think about it. I want to keep her as is so I can judge compare the progress over time.

I bet you will do just fine, Emily. You have definitely done your homework. And, if you forget a step, everyone here is more than happy to help.
Hugs,

Yep! Those little 6" minis are like rooting hair on a plum! I'm working on Danielle Zweers first set of triplets. Macy, Mae, and Madeline. what cuties. I'll put them on when I'm done. I'm rooting them now.
I, too, am in the middle of rooting a Secrist mini. What I'm finding is that it gives almost instant gratification (at least compared to the bigger dolls) because the little heads allow me to get them done in one sitting, LOL! Almost done with my little one already, hope to finish today. I'll post pics if I when it's finished.
So far, one of the girls looks like she's got monkey in her heritage line cause she sure has wild hair lol The other one I'm a little more careful with and maybe I'll paint the hairs on the 3rd one. We'll see how they look when I cut their hair. :o
