Here are some pictures of my very first sculpt. He is still a work-in-progress. I have a lot more smoothing and detailing to do, and I'm making the limbs now. Please give me all your input and advice, I won't be offended. :D I want him to be the very best possible.

The only thing I can see ,is the end of his nose needs some more work and under it seems a bit deep. Otherwise I think he/she looks realy good. To me it looks like it could make a nice little boy. XXXXX June.

Thank you. I'll work on that nose. And he is definitely a boy. Thank you again.

Hi Andrea, your work is comming very good!! I would only look a little more about the dimensions between the forehead and the face. I like this link , I dont know if you know already, but it is really a help to sculpers! It is from Donna Lee. I think she is great and blessed when she shares with us her experience. http://www.donnaleeoriginals.com/porportions.htm Hugs Lucia

I think the nose needs a little work and the area between the chin and bottom lip looks a bit deep, this is just my opinion I don't sculpt, hopefully I will try it one day, keep going you are doing a good job.
Thank you! Here are some updated pictures of him. He has limbs now, and everything needs smoothing. I worked on his nose and added more to the top of his head. Do you think he needs more there? Thanks in advance.

Andrea, he is looking good, so are arms and legs, I think the crease under bottom lip may still be a bit too deep. once everything else is smoothed out he'll be lovely. XXXXX June

Thank you! Yes, I'll fix that crease. I'd forgotten about it.

WOW I THINK HE'S AWESOME. I ALWAYS NOTICE THE EARS AND SOME VERY GOOD SCULPTERS CAN MESS UP ON THE EARS. I WORKED NEWBORN NURSERY IN HOSPITALS A LOT AND HAD TO LOOK FOR CERTAIN THINGS TO ALERT THE DOCTORS TO BECAUSE THINGS LIKE LOW SET EARS CAN BE SIGNS OF CONGENITAL DEFECTS. tHE EAR SHOULD BE THE DISTANCE BETWEEN THE EYES AND MOUTH, BUT AS LIFTED UP A BIT. IT GOES ALONG WITH THE ART OF DRAWING HEADS AND HOW TO MEASURE. YOUR'S SEEM TO BE REALLY GOOD. THE EAR IS A BIT POINTED ON TOP, BUT I'VE SEEN THAT MANY TIMES AND IT DOESN'T MEAN A THING. I ALSO THINK THE CREAVIS BETWEEN THE CHIN AND MOUTH WAS A BIT DEEP. SOME ARTIST ALSO MAKE THE SUCKING BLISTER TOO BIG. BUT I WOULD DREAM TO HAVE A BABY COME OUT LIKE YOURS. OH...TO ME..THE LITTLE LEGS ARE A BIT TOO THIN FOR ME WITH THE HEAD LOOKING SO CHUBBY IN THE CHEEKS. THE BABY'S THIGHS ARE USUALLY FAT, SHORT. THAT WHAT I THOUGHT WAS WRONG WITH THE KAYA SCULPT..THE ARMS AND LEGS WERE TOO THIN FOR ME. MAYBE MY BABIES (4) ALL HAD CHUNKY LITTLE LEGS. I'D LOVE TO SEE WHERE YOU ARE IN YOUR PROGRESS NOW. YOU ARE PROVING TO BE VERY TALENTED.

This is rather outdated, isn't it? Thank you for all your comments and input. I did go ahead and bake him a while ago, after smoothing him out a little. He got lots of moonies, and a couple of his fingers have cracked off. He's sitting on my dresser, waiting for me to paint him a little and put him together. I'm hoping to take up sculpting again soon, but probably a little smaller than this baby. i'll let you know when i do!
