I have heard that human hair does not feel the same...well I guess if you had baby's hair and that would be awful to root.  But once the hair is cut and there is not roots, then the hair will over time become brittle and break off.  I would think it would give the appearance of a much older child.  Sorry..that's all I have heard.

Yes that is what has been dicussed on here before. If you do have human hair, you can get it made into a wig, and use it on a porcelain doll. XXXX June.

Thanks June, I was just wondering have anyone rooted it before because I have a book by Jan Tucker she said you could use it, I got this book whenI first started to reborn with dye and oil paints, I made two babies one I don't like and the other is cute, I probably will strip the other when it gets nice outside I won't deal with oils and dye anymore though.

Have a Blessed Day!

I have my daughter's hair from when she was a baby, then again when she was 3 years old. I will be rooting them into an Ariela that I'm working on. She looks like my daughter when she was a baby.
Human hair can be rooted but there are a few rules...

First, human hair, even new baby hair is actually more coarse than mohair. I know people usually think of fine baby hair as being really thin but it's not compared to mohair.

Then, you have to root human hair using the "directional" method, meaning root in the direction you want the hairs to lye on the head. You can minimally change the style but are really pretty much locked in (as far as I have found from my studies on it) by how you root it.

The hair shaft is like a saw blade in that it has a directional grain and you will want to root it into the head near the end of the shaft (or where the shaft had been before you cut it off). Make sure all the hairs are going the same way. YOu don't want to root it if some of the hairs are directioned up and some are down. You will be able to see (or at least feel) if they are going the wrong way. Don't root in the middle of the hair as this will give you one hair but it will give you two in the hair hole so it will actually be going in two directions. Take one of your own hairs, bend it in half and then feel it. You will see (or actually feel) that it has a different texture or pattern depending on whether you are going up or down the shaft.

Well, I think I explained this right but if I confused some of you just come back and say so. I'll try to explain it better. :)

Ok, hehehe. Me neither! Right now we are in a huge fight with my college. They want to close many technical programs, some of which there are NO others even close and the students won't get a chance to get their diplomas or degrees. It's gonna get ugly! So ya, I know what you mean by no more complications!!!

Hang in there hun! :)
