Here's a couple of pictures of what I've been trying to fix after messing them up.. The first one is Nicole and I decided to use the dark brown hair with the midnight star E.C. eyes. I also took my Sera Elisabeth and got some of the paint off her face. But I liked the look afterwards the best. I did blush her just a bit and now I actually like her. ( couple of hours have passed) Geeze...I just now put their pics up on the big screen and I see a LOT of things I need to fix..Do you all have problems with the nose looking dirty inside? I have heard of burning the hole, but my hands are too shaky to try that. *heavy sigh* I root just using a single needle in my hand and I broke a 40 g and the part that stayed in the head went right up my thumb nail and OUCH, it's been about 45 min. and it's still hurting. I've been looking to make sure there wasn't any of it left in there. I hope not..that's all I need. Also last night I stabbed my finger with one. Just has been a lousy week. Also we have company coming in a few weeks and I tell you...I have a lot of cleaning to do and I have so many baby clothes, I don't know what to do with them. Anyone here needing clothing..check with me. I have preemie 3 pc. dresses and sweater sets out the ying yang. And baby shoes. I finally got a really good fitting pair by Carter's on Ebay. They are sweet with memory foam in them..ahhh such comfort for today's baby. Also I have quite a bit of Zutano.

Love the blue eyes!! I never got the hang of the candle burning method myself for opening noses. I bought myself a small drill and bit set just for my babies. I clean the bits with alcohol just in case to prevent a dirty nose. So far so good! Those needles to tend to bite don't they, LOL, I guess it's there way of saying we need a rest! I hope you week gets better for you
It's all trial and error. I had a rough time with the needles at first and still do. They can really make you say a few words. I use the drill bits too. I found a small hand drill at the local craft store. Really cheap. And use regular clean drill bits if the holes need to be bigger.
Just keep at it and you'll get the look your happy with. Each one I find get's a little easier. But, some will just give you fits. LOL I go to local dept stores and troll the baby section. Looking at clearence and new baby clothes. I am always wondering if someone I know will find me there. As I have no children. And don't plan on having any at 46. It's kinda like shoes. You can't have too many. Or can you?
I agree with you Brenda about the baby clothes, My children are adults and we have no grands, so I spend alot of time in the baby departments too, since I don't sale my babies I also go to garage sales but I only buy like new clothing, I wash them and press them they look like new, my mom thinks I nuts but my husband tells me to pay any attention to her she does not understand doll lovers. Have fun shopping lol.
Does anyone in here think that the arms/hands and legs are a bit too big for Nicole? Now I have noticed on the pictures they have of her she has different ones. I like the ones that she has, and think I might like to use them on other babies. I still have some work to do with Nicole. I have her body together, but she's not done. I can put her picture in here and also other stuff I'm doing. I was also wondering what you thought of the little head band that I did for Nicole? I've been thinking I could do these things and also sell some of the clothes I have. You would not believe it, but I bought over 1,000 worth of brand new clothing in small up to large newborn from a place on line that was clearing out to get new items. MOst all products are Little Me kumquat new potatoes and earlybirds. Also petit ami and on and on..carters of course and Vitamins. I got it all for under 300.00. Tags on everything. Oh the last picture is of gumdrop with red hair and a new dress from Hannah's.(England). I took my black eye picture out...lol..It was awful. Today it looks just a bit better, but the doc. called and said there was NO fracture. cool. But I do have a MRI to be done on my neck on this WEd. at 1:30. I have an appointment in 3 weeks to get injection of steriods in my neck from both sides. yowl..I hope it doesn't hurt.

Aviva, what a shiner. You'll look like your self again soon. It's amazing how things like that happen. Funny how some people will jump to the wrong conclusion.
I think your Nicoles hands maybe look bigger as they are open. Most of the scuplts have one or both hands in a fist. I would like to see more of the open hands myself.
It would have been hard for me to not buy the clothes you did. What a deal! I love the Petit Ami clothing. I missed a boys sailor outfit on ebay. It was the cutest thing. I will probably never see it again. I just loved it.
I love how you did your Lucy. The first doll I bought was a Lucy sculpt. She was so cute. But now I'm noticing that she is looking blue on her face. I should take her picture and see what might have caused it. Have you heard of any of the wash that is in the doll after dying good....moving later on? Like after being heated?
(taking about Nicole here...edited it for that reason) Also I got the doll as the whole kit I still think those arms and legs are big. I have some hands that are from Secrist that looks like what is in the picture on the Secrist page on Nicole. The ones on her are about 2.5 inches long...and one finger is 1.5 inches. She can also wear new bortn shoes!!! She has a long neck too. I've never seen a baby with neck like that. She looks like she's 5 months old to me. Okay...I'm going to take my black eye off now. I feel weird showing it. I went by the doctor's office on Friday to just ask them about it and you should have seen them getting me inside and they sent me straight to the ER to get XRAYS and darn if they didn't take about 20 it felt like it and my neck is so stiff they couldn't get it turned. what a mess. lol

Pat S. has a blog on the Secrist site. The first thing he talks about is that internal wash will not bleed thru the vinyl. I ask a well known artist for Secrist about this recently. As I was confused as what others were saying about internal washes being a bad thing. She said that Genesis will not bleed if it's heat set. Using acrylic or oil paints is where you can get into trouble with the bruising look. I myself like the internal wash and it only works on more translucent vinyls.
I love the head band but would like to see it a bit higher on the head, mostly indians wear them arround their forehead. The dress itself is very nice but the lace on the sleeves should be a bit smaller on Gumdrop. I also think the arms on Nicole are too long, as when you place arms on a doll or reborn, they should only come to the crouch, maybe you could shorten the cotton arm. This is not meant to be negative but helpfull as I have been making Porcelain dolls for over 20 yrs and have been reborning for about 17 mths, I am still learning all the time about reborning. And with the help of others on the forum have leart so much. Hope this is a help to you. And I think you have a good chance of selling your headbands. XXXXX June. PS, as for drilling the nose hole out, I have never been in favour of that as you still have to put felt inside the head. I paint the nose holes and put a littleof the shine in when I do the nails and lips. XXXX

You know what?? I was looking for a picture and left the computer for something and never came back until just now. I'm sorry if this messed things up for anyone. I had just got that little dress from Hannah's and it was smaller than the newborn size. So I tried it and thought at least the color looked good with the red hair. I think the sleeves are like 1/2 or 3/4. I got two other dresses also. One with long sleeves and long pantalooms. The other is newborn size and is in a pretty blue gingham and lace. I like her dresses because she brings them up around the neck with a 1/2 inch band of satin. So you never have to worry about the body slip showing. I think they changed those arms and legs on Nicole. I keep looking at the ones on her and they are fat little hands with the fingers spread apart. I haver those hands I think. I bought them from b n b. on ebay and they were suppose to fit a head that belonged to bloosum by JLynn. yeah...right. Oh....wait..she send the ones that are from one of the 22 inch dolls. But tell me anything that you see is wrong. Nicole is not done. I haven't finished her hair and she has NOTHING in her head. There is one little place right below her lip on her right side and I can't get the color right. I stripped it down etc. and it just won't take it. One of the ladies that do some of BB video's Kriisten told me that she never has done the internal wash. She said she used external if she has to because she has total control over it. I also wonder about that.

When you set your eyes the light spot should be in the same spot in both eys, have a look in some ones eyes and check when they turn them to see where the are positioned, at each angle. That is how you get the correct position. XXXX June.
WELL...I WAS GOING TO TAKE THE NICOLE PICTURE OUT. iI PUT THE PICTURE OF kYRA IN WITH THE BLONDISH HAI AND IN THE OTHER PICTURE, i HAVE THE GINGER WIG ON. i THINK SHE LOOKS BETTER, BUT i'M NOT A BIG LOVER OF HATS.

I"m not into hats much either, But cutie Pie has on and I put ribbon though the back to tighten it up so it does comas far forward, also the elastic these days perishes, so in place of it I use ribbon. That way it doesn't streatch and doesn't discolour. It also is good in the nechs that are a bit to large. XXXXXX June.
