1st reborn - Jamie is finished
Permalink

Hello again. Wow, this has been a long journey - I started working on him in September 2008; with a few delays along the way.  I just have to take my time and proceed slowly.  Rooting mohair was the hardest part for me and I think Jamie has 2000 holes in his/her head and 1000 hairs. biggrin Anyway, his boy clothes are dirty and I had this lovely pink dress, so now he's a girl with no name. This Gramma loved doing this.   I took him to IDEX and got to sit in for a few demos. I am new to using a digital camera and have trouble getting an accurate skin tone. The skin is somewhere between pics 1 and 2.  Pic 4 is from my prior post as a work in progress. Thanks so much for looking. Feedback is welcome.  Sandy (in sunny Tucson)

He/she may have taken you a while but I think it is a lovely baby,  wish my first had looked that good.
I love the first and third picture.

Thank you so much for the wonderful supplies. Since I am a newbie, it is easy to get discouraged and appreciate the kind words. When I did the laundry after rooting hair for a week I found a very, very curly mass of mohair in the bottom of the washing machine. Mohair on my face, up my nose, in my sandwich, mohair everywhere.   Thank you. I'm so happy you all like Jamie.  I've got 2 cats and I'm painting on THEIR table.  If I take the kid out of her sleeping basket, it is instantly occupied by a 8 lb. cat who has the ability to double his weight when I try to get him out of MY baby bed. However, I do have a cat whisker for veining.  Sandy

Sandy your babies are magnificant!!!.

PS. In some of your pictures, your babies are over exposed to  direct sunlight, take the photo inside your home near a window, thus you will still able to get enough natural light to take your pics.
