I just bought 3 of Secrist 17 inch kits. I hope I will be happy with them I got Misty (I think that's the one with her eyes open) as mom complains about the closed eyed dolls. She thinks it's a shame they can never open their eyes. She acts like she just loves these babies..just like they are real to her. She covers them up at night because they feel cool to her. It's really hard watching her go downhill and it's getting worse day by day. I am going to try to increase the Aricept again. *sigh* Oh and I got two of the Zoe kits. I just liked the look on her face. I might do one female and one male. Oh....and I reread that stuff and it seems like I read the heads were like l7.00+ which isn't too bad.

I'm sure you will be happy with them hun. I like the Secrist vinyl the best! Don't have to worry about toxic fumes like with the rest of the kits. And they have a very slight texture on the outside surface to help the realism and the paint to stay.
It's so nice of you to "help" your mom. I know my grandmum got that way after a while but she was having TIA's. No meds for that. I know it's hard when they get like that but maybe like you said, increase the meds.
I love the little Zoe face, really cute. You will see how nice the vinyl is and they'll be just fine. :)
good for you! on the kits. i got zoe kit for christmas turned it to "Aiden" and i just bought 2 missy's aswell!!! i have the premixed paint set and just found out i should'nt be mixing them with thinner! im sooooo sad. i've started one misty using the directions i found on this forum, however im pretty annoyed that the dvd didnt explain this. anyway good luck with your new kits hope they work out well for you. p.s. best of luck with your mam.
Oh..I wrote somewhere else about the kits under another topic change...I don't know...shoot...my brain isn't working tonight. We moved mom in with us about 4 years ago after she broke her arm. I had to take total care of her...bathing, hair washing...dressing.everything!!! Along with the lupus, I also have Raynauld Phenomenon which is secondary to SLE (Lupus) and a horrbile case of fibromyalgia, and planter's faciitis ANNNND spinal stenosis ANNND lower body neuropathy and low potassium and problems with kidneys. After I fell on my head twice..they had to do a cat scan...it was okay..which was strange, because I have numbness in different places...two fingers...somtimes thumb side and now little finter and ring finger...yesterday it was the left side of my scalp. ??? I lost a bunch of weight pretty fast...and hit 98 pounds...from an average of 127 (+- 5) So my medication doses were too high and Jerry was finding me in the kitchen floor passed out, He found me lots of places and he would have to pick me up and put me in bed. I had no memory of any of it. But since we cut all my doses in half I'm doing okay. I was at the Pain management Center yesterday. They help keep a lot of my pain under control. So...if I say things kinda weird...just pass it off okay? Anyway...after I got through doing all the pre stuff on the kids, I think they are going to be fun to do. Also now that I can see through that light and big magnifying glass I will do a better job. Nite.... (hugs)

I do like the lighted magnifier, especially with "my" eyes! O_O I have a brain injury where I get Vertigo-like symptoms (but don't actually have Vertigo) so they put me on some meds for that. Only I'm afraid to take them. So basically I'm trading dizzy mad spinning (worse with my eyes closed!) for sleepy/drousey, no driving, blurred vision? I don't know if it's worth it.
I tell people that's why I say some of the things I do too hehehe
Pat B, Sam has been having dizzy spells too. Have you had your thyroide checked lately. Sam's is functing normally but he has a lump or nodule about the size of an egg yolk. We wont know what it is untill he has his spinal surgery in the next few months. It's worth getting checked, as we don't know why he is getting them also. XXXXX June.
Ya hun, I did. They said it's within normal peramiters. Mine is definately from landing on my head (actually the front of my head/forehead) when I was hit by a car while riding my bicycle. I flew into the air, turned 180 degrees and landed and crashed. Got all broken up but not dead or in a wheelchair. They said I was very lucky! I say... "there but for the grace of God go I". Any day I can wake up and see me in a mirror is a good day.
Well, I tried one of the 3 pills (per day) I am supposed to take and it seemed to help some. And now it's done for a while. I had that spell this time for 7 days.
I hope they find out what is going on with your hubby.
