I micro rooted my triplets, it doesn't take long and I think the results are realy nice. It lets you practice on something small before you get into the bigger kits. XXX June

I am rooting mine now. I think June put hers in the artist showcase where you can see actual pics of them. I'm not sure what the thread says so you might check till you find it. :)
I will try to post a link to mine this weekend. They are very soft and nice to root but it's kinda like rooting a plum hehehe

Today I've received my 6" mini MISSY, and I am going to reborn it before I begin to do my quadruplets. And I have some questions about it.

1. I found only 2 paints inside the kit's box. I haven't seen DVD yet, but I think, it is impossible to make this skin of Missy to look like real skin of baby without some flesh paint. Or this is a kit just for learning what does reborning mean?

2. Should I wash this kit with some dish soap and alcogol?

That's great.... I will try to answer your questions, But I don't want to give you the wrong information... There are some great ladies on here.

For your first part of your question I can't answer but I know some other ladies can biggrin

And for as your second question? I don't wash my kit with dish soap because I have had a resiud on it after washing and I don't use alcohol either. I don't know what the others do aww

Which kit did you get? Not a complete kit was it, as least it does not sound like it. Which paints did you get? Flesh paint is must I would think I've never done a baby without it. As far as washing, I wash all my kits and let them dry. I've never done the alcohol rub myself I think just washing it would be enough.

Oh, today wasn't a busy day for me, and I made this mini kit. I found three new things for myself.

1. It is difficult to paint with good results. With the bad results it is easier. LOL

2. After baking kit in my oven I drived all the city (our city is the third biggest city in Russia) and bought heat gun.

3. I don't know, how to paint good skin - my baby is carrot red!

In any case I will have more time next week - Tomorrow we go to the church with Mary (21) and Elisabeth (12) - and I will try with my quadruplets.

I took a look in the book and it shows the babies coming with only 2 paints and 2 brushes (plus the other items). If you follow the instructions in the DVD, it will show you exactly how to make your babies with only 2 paint colors. Also, if your baby turned out red, you can color correct and tone the red down. Just use the "search" feature at the top of the page, type in color correction and it should bring up LOTS of threads.

As far as the heat gun, I too have one and I use it just for the mini babies (also lips, eyebrows, and nails). Other than that I do not trust that it will cure the paint on a larger baby.

It takes lots of practice to paint good babies I think. I know it does for most people. So you are not alone in how your baby came out lol.

You can order flesh paint for your mini babies but it shows in the dvd how to do them with just 2 colors. I didn't believe it was possible but it is. I had to watch the dvd several times. :o

Hi - I am brand new to both the forum, and reborning. But totally hooked and have assembled probably more tools, brushes, paints and kits than I will be able to use up for some time!

I have 3 x 6" minis, the ones that come in animal PJs. But I have no DVD and no instructions at all.
I am sure I have enough in my collection of 'stuff', to paint them - and I specifically got this size to try first, because if I stuff it up, their burials won't be as traumatic as a baby I have spent weeks bonding with (yeah it will take me that long for my first few, I know!!)

My Q about the mini...I have read about people who "bake on" the hair. What does this mean?
Also, are the eyes - secrist just like the kits, I am told, safe to bake, or do I need to somehow cover them before baking?

Hello and welcome to our family forum. We're glad you came and hope you will stay for a long time :)

Glad you did some reading of prior posts, it really helps if you need an instant answer! Any time you need to look up a question, just use our search feature at the top of the page, type in your word and see what it comes up with.

Usually when people "bake on" the hair, they have used the "painted or colored hair" method whereby they either use the Genesis paints to create hair with a brish or use the prismacolor pencils to draw on hair. I believe there are posts on both using the search feature :)

As far as the eyes, you should be able to bake them as they come in the little heads. They are very tiny so they should be ok. Don't cover them with anything or it can effect the eyes.
