Dawn ,If you start of on Genesis you should have no prolems but I do sugest you get the DVD on Genesis Heat Set Painting and on on rooting. Ater you have looked at them and realy got all the info you need, then you can sell them on ebay. They have stepby step info. June.

ALL Genesis products are heat set whether they say it or not. And you MUST follow the directions for heat setting or it will not be considered permanent! There are one or maybe two of their products that are not heat set but they do say so (ex: "air dry", etc).

As far as product for starting out: I do highly recommend the DVD's (like June said) and you have to have paints, brushes, and thinner. If you are following the DVD's it's a good idea if you have the products that they use in order to follow along, especially if you are a newbie. We can only speak to the Secrist or AV products since they are our companies items that we use or sell. If you are using a store bought doll, the results may or may not be the same.
Some choose to purchase the supplies I listed above on our site or from one of our dealers but go elsewhere to get the incidentals like makeup sponges, glue, etc. It's up to you. We try to be a one stop shop so you can order all at once and it's delivered all together. Your choice :)
