Rough Skin.

Well I have plucked up the courage to paint with genesis Pre Mixed Paints, everything was OK untill I put the coat of Matt varnish on. Have baked it for a second time and it is still rough. I did just a cheap Peterkin baby to start off with, and had started Hannah with ink and had only done the shading so I did Genesis on her too. Her limbs have turn out OK but he face is kinda a rough texture, she is more of a softer vynal than secrists, Tried taking it off with solvent, but it wouldn,t budge. The cheaper baby doesn't matter I will do it for one of the Grandkids. Any suggestions. From a distance she looks OK.

I had the same problem too when I first used the matte varnish, I applied it too thick I think and I think that was the problem. It really has to be applied thinly if your going to use it. My second try I did just that and my baby was fine. Since then I don't use it at all unless I notice a shine that really is all it's for, for a shiny baby. As far as taking it off, I did read that post somewhere in the forum Pat B. explained a few ways but I can't remember where I saw it.

I was told this is from poucing it too much. Also that you can extremely softly use 600 grit sandpaper. I did this on one that had a couple spots that were rough and I barely touched her with it and it seemed to work fine. I would try it first someplace you wouldn't see much, like the back of the neck near the collar.
Hope this helps.
