Has anyone used a wig on their babies? I normaly wouldn't use one but I can't get all the little hairs off my baby Audrina, and I don't think I can reroot it because wouldn't the hairs I can't get off show through? If you have used wigs which one did you use and where did you get it from. Audrina would need a size 11-12 or 12-13. Thanks for any help you can give me.
Racer, You can use wigs, but have you tryed soaking inside the head and taking out the glue that way the other fibers may come out as well. June M from Oz
yes I have done that and gotten most of the hair off but theres this little bit f hair and I tryed cutting it close to the head but theres some still there, and I can't seem to get those off.
I have used Kemper mohair wigs on some of my babies. Kemper makes very nice high quality wigs in a variety of sizes (including the size you need). I got mine off Ebay, but many sites that sell reborn supplies also carry them. I believe Kemper also has its own website. If you Google it you should be able to find several sources for them. I have used Kemper Cassidy wigs on some of my babies (Rowan, Anson, and Patrick). You can see pics in the artists showcase link. Kemper also makes some other cute style, but the Cassidy I think looks most like a younger baby--though I find it helps if you trim them up a bit after you have them on.
I agree, Kemper has some very nice wigs and I have used them off and on for years. They also do have "mohair" wigs which you may be interested in instead of the modacrylic wigs. they are more costly but I think you'll be happy with them. They have human hair wigs too! The Cassidy is one that is very popular for the reborns these days. You can just google Kemper and get their web address. I think just put in Kemper wigs or Kemper dolls.
Be sure what size wig you need before you order it as I'm not sure if you can return if you ordered the wrong size.
To measure a doll for a wig: take a soft measuring tape, start at the base of the skull (nape of the neck). Measure up and around the front of the forehead at the hairline (or where it's supposed to be) and back around to the beginning, making sure to measure above the ears. This measurement will tell you what "size" wig you will need. Companies wig sizes will vary in that some will carry a 12/13, 14/15, etc and some will carry a 12/13, 13/14, etc.
