I'm going to make a preemie doll for my Grandma for Christmas and I'm trying to find a certain realistic eye color. Has anyone come across an eye color that leaves the person wondering "What color are your eyes going to be? Are they going to be blue or brown?" If someone has used a color like this can you let me know?
I havn't used any eyes that color but I found some really pretty ones that could make you wonder. I have chocolate brown eyes now, but when I was a newborn, I had deep dark blue eyes. I showed my mom the eyes that I found and she said that my eye color was similar to many of the colors that i showed her. Here's the link http://www.eyecoltd.com/babyroom.html
you mightn't think so by looking at the chart pictures so here is a few real pic i've just taken of the 2 sets. Its like are they going to be blue, brown or green? i think this is the look your searching for.
you can also get some exquisit dark colours in the German glass eyes but they can run at $30+ a set so depends on your budget
Thank you everyone for you suggestions. I think I've it narrowed down now. I'm going to use either the Secrist newborn blue or the MP - Lapis. I'll make my final decision after I choose the hair color. I would love to be able to use the German glass eyes but they are to expensive for my budget right now. Maybe someday!
Hello Tesa, I tend to use a lot of grey Eyes, because most new borns dont develope their colour staight away, usually when they start to focus, but if you have a set colour in mind , go with it, you will be happy then, Grey tends to lead you to be able to put a lot of coloured cloths with it. I was leaning towards an eyecolor similiar to the color my son had when he was born. His eyes were a deep dark blue with a hint of gray and tiny specks of brown towards the center. He now has bright light blue eyes.
