Yeah. I'm not thrilled with her photos but here she is. I love how she turned out. I'm especially happy with her hair. She wears 0-3 months so I was able to easily buy her a cute little outfit!
She is the Jonas sculpt by Eva Walkobinger. She wears a 0-3 months. I love the fact I can find cute clothes that fit her! She is a big girl, relative to the other her dolls we usually work on. I can't remember her length but it is somewhere around 23 inches.
she is a big girl compared to the sculpts like marrissa may's - the head on this bub is about tripple the size. I know she's been a labor of love, go you!!! Is this a keeper? or are you selling her?
Yes, I'm keeping her. My next give away will be my open-eyed Bereneuger for my Aunt (Christmas present). I have no plans to make any right now for sale or donation. Right now I have 4 to make and potentially 1 more kit to buy (with unlimited funds and time, I could come up with a lot more!) Then I'm going to try my hand at sculpting.
I love her little face but I think she could have had more hair to the front of her forhead, but thats just my oppinion. It's a bit like my Jasmine, she could have had more hair to the front, but sometimes you get lazy. But when I read how big she was , no wonder, you desided to do less is best. I know how tight money can get and it,s no wonder you are saving all your pennies, if the ones I do with the Genesis paints aren,t a success, then I will have to give making them away for a while also.june M from Oz
I purposefully made her with a "receding" hairline as I've been noticing many babies have them. Those hairs must come in later in life. I can comb her hair down her face instead of to the side. I'll try and get more pics so you can see her different "styles."
I don't sell my babies because I don't need to and I don't want to. I have a full time job that pays fairly well. I'm by no means rich and like many people I run out of money a few days before the next paycheck. But the dolls I make are for *me* not to make money. When I've tried to sell things in the past it has just taken the pleasure out of doing it. I've sold one doll which was more of an accident than anything. I didn't set out to sell her, but one of my co-workers who collects dolls pretty much bought her on the spot. Her two children were tiny like the doll and when she held her, it reminded her of when they were young.
Im reknown for receading hair lines or devils peaks as I call them. I like the look, since I see so many babies with it. I did a Zoe kit with a receading hair line.
Good on you for making your dollies for yourself. I have only ever kept one of my reborns. And thats because she was my first attempt with Genesis.. She's rather cute until you get up close and you can see the paint sitting there..
I would like to keep more...I do have some sculpts put away just for me. But I never get the time to actually sit down with them and do them for myself.
I like your baby..And Im also a fan of Eva's babies

I think she's goregeous! Well done. And also well done for not feeling like you have to sell them. It's surprising how many people reborn for keeps, and there is nothing wrong with this.
I'm the opposite with my babies. I used to collect Ashton Drake many years ago, so when I sculpt now, I sell them, as I am over the collecting. But having said that, lately I have been craving a reborn for myself, so I may have to make one for me ;)
Thank you both! I do it for the art. I love the sculpted baby in your avatar Sugarbaby. She is sweet. I'd also love to see some of your earlier babies, KatinOz! Your avatar baby is also very sweet. Most of my previous dolls had more hair on their forehead -- then I started really looking at real babies and mostly saw high foreheads so when I started this one I decided to try it. I'm thrilled with the effect.
