i know i shouldn't complain, i shouldn't compare... and i do have my good sales, but i can't help feeling disheartend when i see others always consistently selling well and feel my babies are just as good.
visit the above link and you'll see a range of aust sellers, along with three of my own... what is wrong with my babies that they arn't getting the top bids also...
i know, i know - i shouldn't complain as sometimes i do get $500 or more for a baby. But what is wrong that i'm doing or not doing that i can't seem to keep this as a consistent thing....
i also am very aware that i'm not taking my own advise here as i know i've told others not to get disheartend, that it takes time to build a name and following yada-yada-blah-blah
but i AM feeling disheartend... disillusioned and even somewhat sad this evening.
why oh why oh why?? CRIES!!!!
*ok i'm over my little pitty-party now*

So sorry, Naomi. Your babies are incredible, and they often are way up there, just not right now. Frankly, I would love to sell my babies even as well as your worst sales. At least all your babies have been bidden on, and maybe they'll get a lot more attention towards the end of their auctions. Ebay is not the friendliest place, and I well understand how upsetting it can be. Try not to look at your auctions for awhile and focus on making another baby, then coming back later. You might be suprised. Good luck on your auctions and may God bless you!

(((((((((((((Naomi)))))))))))))) hun ive been studying ebay au for almost three years your babys are doing exceptionaly well for a new kid on the block so to speak, if you look at the other nurserys not the big ones like peaches and cream etc but the new ones the most a new nursery is bringing in is around 120.00 to 180.00 per baby so the prices your pulling in are exceptional considering some of the newer nurserys have been in the OOAK section for around 1 year now and still havent reached the 200.000 mark, it wont take you long to reach the 500 or more for every baby, i myself should already be at that mark i still around 220.00 to 700.00 i dont list often enough however you have an advantage over alot of us and that is you can keep your production going alot faster, if you study ebay for a while youll see peaches and cream tumblybubs etc all have a production line of 2 babys every week or every other week they also list one baby in the featured plus section and 1 or 2 in the normal the other big seller on AU is new releases customers will go for those more so before they look at the older ones, new releases start at around 149.00 opening bid au they will bid alot more on that starting price, older or preemies start at around 99.00 if you start them higher you will get less bids i dont know why its like that but it hasnt changed over the past year or so that is all the hints i can think of for now and i hope ive helped ya but trust me dont be disheartned you realy are doing great on ebay AU i been watching you hehehe ((((big hugs))))

thanks Leah that does make me feel much better. I didn't even know reborns existed this time last year so i don't have the experiance of having wached ebay and really see this all play out. It's a pitty i was also listing in the apparent wrong section before also (reborn instead of the artist offerings) i guess things will pick up as time continues to go by.
do you think i've been listing too many in the featured section? and what would you suggest regarding the number of listings on at the same time? I already have 3 here waiting for me to list. (sarah-jane who's shown off in the artist showcase from BB's Jaden, also i have a girl i've done from BB Morgan, and a boy i finished last night fromBB Paisley).
i think i'm also feeling a little over emotional right now as that monthly visiter is due pretty soon, although mine has never become regular to be predictable, and its always played real intesly on my emotions.
OOh my "Carly" who's ending this evening just went up by another $10 - litterally just then. Thats given me a little more hope that some more action might happen before she ends. Only a $10 increase but that makes me feel so much happier!! *wheeeeeee
yes i rember you listing in the wrong section i was the one who told you hehehe your the first artist on there ive seen list as many as you have in the featured section i was watching to see what would happen, i think the normal rule of thumb is to list the best sculpt (most popular)in the featured section and the others in the normal section most customers will look to see all the dolls you have available from that featured listing through the view other items tab, my suggestion would be 2 to 3 babies a week until the sales slow,when they slow youll see peaches and cream etc dissapear for a week then all of a suden they list again,i used to think they might be making more babies but then discovered there prices were dropping a little prior to their disapearance hehe, its also a good idea to have a nursery section on your site mine is on my front page its called babies in the nursery it shows the babies i have in the nursery that will be going on ebay in the near future, you can often sell from your site before they get to ebay, i also noticed you havent got a my ebay page, customers love the my ebay page that takes them to your site, so might be worth making one of those up, glad carly has more bids hun best of luck with her ((((hugs)))

Well Carly just sold and for a price i'm quite happy with at $355. She's going to the US and her new mummy is really excited.
My Toddler isn't going so well. She's not moved from $255 but still has an hour to go. I've been told that Toddlers never sell as well for the amount of work that goes into them. I had to have a go though, but i'm probably not likely to do any more toddlers in the future unless they are a private order.
I didn't think my toddler was going to go up much, if any... in the last 30seconds of her auction she went from $265 up to $580 with some really fast biddings from about 3 individuals.
ok so yeah... not feeling so disheartened now!!!
things can chage so quickly with the bidding... i'm still in some shock over the sudden HUGE jump in her closing sale.

People are strange. Some get wrapped up in winning and completely miss out on a beautiful doll. You are quite fortunate that your babies sell for as much as they do. Most people in the States are not selling or even taking a loss on their babies. The ones that go for large amounts of money are probably being purchased by collectors who are looking to see that the artist who painted/rooted the doll is as well known as the person who sculpted it. They may also be looking for prototypes. Anything that makes the doll super unique is going get a higher bid. There are some Secrist babies and some BB babies that I don't care for the prototype and have seen better done ones by subsequent "unknowns" but the prototypes will still sell for more because of *who* the artist is! It is a big crazy...
Naomi, remember when you sold your baby for.$510. He only had about 4 hrs to go aand then they went beserk, I think they will do the same for this presious little one also.June M from Oz
By the way, checked out ebay and the baby isn,t a patch on yours, His lips are too red,looks like he,cut his mouth, and the colour between his lips isn,t a natural colour, so you don't have anything to worry about. Just wish I could put some of mine up to see how they go. By the way, there is a little country fair about 20mins from here and tables are only $5. So on the 13 th we are going to take some babies for a drive. Could only find one of yours and I think he was up arround $250-260. so that sounds promising.(((HUGS))) Love June M
I just wanted to make a comment about eBay bidding. I've been selling/purchasing items on eBay for 7 1/2 years now, and have found that if I bid earlier in the auction, I often end up losing the auction, or pay more than I really wanted to, due to being outbid.
My solution to that is to NEVER bid on an auction until the last 10 seconds. If I know I won't be around the computer due to kids' sports, etc., then I set up "Auction Sniper" to bid for me, if I want the item badly enough.
The whole point is to never feel bad, disheartened, whatever until the "the game is over."
~~~
On another note, yes, I've seen some really great reborns go for very low $$ here in the US, but I've bought 4 in the last two months, and that's past my limit. All the Very High Dollar babies are coming from the UK and Europe, with a few from AU as well... I don't know why that is, but it's just the way it is right now.
