I am new to reborning/newborning, but not new to reborn dolls. I bought my first, second and third "reborn" dolls off eBay almost 6 years ago. I wanted to start making my own way back then, but I couldn't find much guidance in "how" to do it, so I just went off and had three MORE children of my own! Now we have six little ones, and Hubby says "NO MORE!!," so I have decided to *try* to learn how to make my own *pretend* babies again. LOL (I think I've figured how how to make the real ones, LOL) It's amazing how much more *real* the babies have gotten in the last 5-6 years; the ones I bought long ago just look like "dolls" in comparison. And for the record, I paid over $300 for them way back then!
I have spent the better part of the last two weeks lurking here and reading/digesting all that I can in the little bits of time I get. I'm hoping that I will remember all the pointers ya'll have shared so that my very first baby turns out perfectly (yeah, right... hee hee ). I don't have a lovely avatar showing a reborn I've made, so you guys just get to look at my kids instead.
I guess that's about it for now; I'm sure I'll have a bazillion questions once I actually get started.
Hello Olinda! Welcome to the forum! It´´s going to be grat to share all our comments whit you! Reborning is the best thing I founf in my hole life and I guess for all the ladies here is like this. By the way, your kids are beautiful and I´ll love to see the reborn dolls you bougth back then! please post pics of your reborns at the artist showcase section so we all can see how the reborn dolls were six years ago! And remember, newbie or expert, we all share the same passion: reborn dolls! =)
Susan - I wish I could post some pics of my dollies, but sadly, two of them were so bad I finally gave them away; the only one worth keeping I gave to my mom!
You must be so busy. I had three children, and they kept me running for a long time.
It's amazing, too, how the family multiplies. Now I have seven with spouses, a special girlfriend, and a grandson who will be 5 on August 26th.
Reborning is so much fun. It's a wonderful, joyful way to create. I've been enjoying this craft for the past year and a half, and I find it to be the first exciting, fulfilling "hobby" I've had.
There are wonderful, creative, kind, helpful people on this forum. I love coming here to read all the helpful tips and suggestions.
Thanks for sharing! I'll be looking forward to seeing your questions and posts.
Are they all they all your children or is there your husband and yourself inthere as well. You don't have a birthdate on your details so you could be 80 for all we know LOL.June M from oz

Wow! Thanks for all the warm welcomes, everyone! ((((Hugs))))
Like I said, I have been reading posts for a couple of weeks now, so I knew you were all good people, but it's still nice to feel so welcome here! I belong to other forums, as well, and until you "make friends" with people, you don't ever feel as welcome there...kwim?
Anyway, yes, the photo is of all my children, taken 3 months ago in May. It was one of the more recent ones where I have them all together. My oldest daughter just turned 13, then my next oldest (boy) is almost 12, but he is a good 2 inches or so taller (and 35 pounds heavier) than my daughter, so everyone always thinks he's the oldest. My oldest actually just had her hair cut into the super-cute Victoria Beckham style, so now she actually looks very "teenager-ish." Then, I have a 6 y/o dd, 5 y/o ds, almost 3 ds and 14 month old dd. She was only 10 1/2 months old when the photo was taken; I'm always amazed how much those little babies grow in such a short period of time!
No, June, I'm not 80, but some days I feel like I could be!
Thankfully, school starts on Monday, so I'm hoping I'll have a little bit more *free* time here very soon!
