Thanks for the warm welcome. I live in Sydney NSW Australia and no i have no teacher. There are no teachers in NSW that i know of. There was one but she costed a bit too much for me.

My friend found out about reborn through ebay and then we bought a kit and taught ourselves how to do them. I must say im not that good but im getting better by every doll i make, i just hate the hair rooting bit haha but who doesnt.

Is there like a doll club in Australia where there are other reborn dolls makers?

Cant wait to get to know you all and have fun reborning

You will love it here. The women here know so much and are willing to help with whatever you need. I just finished my 3rd baby tonight. So we are at about the same place. I can't imagine selling my babies either. I have 3 daughters who each claimed one of the ones I have done. Maybe the 4th will be for me!

Hello Amy, I told you everyone would make you welcome, but don,t think yopu won,t become addicted to being on the forum because YOU will.LOL. Also I,ve been making porcelain dolls for about 20 yrs, and there are doll clubs all over australia, I,m sure if your interested in being a club member, next time I talk to my close friend Beryl, who used to be Loudia K dolls,originally from Sydney but moved to the Sunshine Coast where we became good friends, she used to deliver what is called Greenware for Porcelain dolls to as far as Sydney and knows a lot of doll clubs, and I,m sure they would be interested in the art of reborning as they are being entered into doll compititions, As the porcelain dolls are a bit of a dying art at the moment. Not so long ago there was a show at Blacktown and I was told there were some reborn stalls there. I will try to find out about teachers and clubs for you. weirdface

So many aussies here even though its an american site haha.
Yes i love reborning but it costs so much to keep going! i dont know how people can afford to do it, i work on one doll at time, as hard as it is as i just want to do them all!!

I would love to do doll competitions with a doll club! my dolls arent that good yet but im getting there, i see an improvement on every doll i make.

i also make my own baby beanies and booties hehehe they are so cute! these dolls are better than a real baby at time, no screaming and nappy changing!
