Don't feel bad. I messed up several pair when I first tried to use them. Let me see if I can help you.
This is how I do it. You need a pair of tweezers and some round toothpicks. Take your toothpick and slowly raising it by very gently going under the end of the lash. Once you get the end up, take your tweezers grasp the "line", try not to get the lash itself because you can tear them off in the process, slowly lift it away from the plastic in one slow movement. Notice I keep emphazing s-l-o-w. This will also help leave some of the glue on the plastic piece. To remove the excess glue. On the same plastic piece below the lash holder...While holding the freed lash in your tweezers, press the end that is freed onto the plastic with your fingers pull straight up. Repeat until most of the sticky is gone. Reverse sides and do the same thing for it. You can also roll your toothpick along the glue line to catch up the excess, always hold onto the lash with your finger or tweezers. You don't want to have to peel it off again. Also, I have had to hunt for a few when I dropped them! Not fun! lol
Applying them...dampen the end of a fresh toothpick in water...you can even let it sit while you remove and clean the lashes. When you apply the lash there will still be some residual glue. This is where the dampened toothpick comes in! It will not stick to the lash when damp so you can manuever your lash into place.
Another hint* Don't throw them away if they aren't totally ruined! You can always cut them off and use the good part left for smaller eyed babies!
To remove eyelashes from the plastic, you use Eucalyptus oil on a cotton bud, wipe it accross the top of the lashes, it will soften the glue and I use a needle to take them off carefully. Then to apply them, messure the length and cut with small sharp sissors at out side end, as you look at them on the plastic, thats the side of the dolls head they go on. To glue them on , I use tacky craft glue on a tooth pic and wipe it on the top edge of the lashes, let dry for a few seconds and then, bend with your fingers to the shape you need it to go, I just hold it with my finger and thumb to place it on and help with toothpic, it shouldn,t take too long to dry and wooooooooooooo there you have it. Hope this helpfull.June M from Oz.

I,m glad I was of some help to you, the only ones that took me hours to do was on a porcelain HIMSELF..Leprechaun that I was finishing off for in the early hours of the morning so I was sleep deprived and had the shakes, after a full week of teaching and firing, sewing, because I,ve always dressed all my dolls I put in comp. I,d always do them last thing, the more stress the better I do. He did win best of show ,so was worth the hard work.June M from Oz
Lash Number 2 proved even more difficult but i did it ....... YYYiiiipppeeeeeeeeeee!!! i will post a piccie of her later tonight In Showcase .... THANKS EVERYONE !!! =) SHE IS FINALLY FINISHED...
i learnt that sleeping babies eyes are easier to do !!! but .... i do love her blue eyes, framed by gorgeous but rather annoying to do lashes !!!
It was worth it !!! =)

Glad you did it! It really will get easier as you do more, I don't even think about it now! I just put some on a baby with 10mm eyes. Now that was tricky...I had more problems getting her eyes in!
Can't wait to see your finished baby!!!!
You probably already figured it out, but the eyelashs are really set up for us to place on top of our lashes. The babies need their lashes to fit right under the edge of their eye lids where they would normally be. So that is why the adhesive glue seems to be on the bottom of the lash instead of on top. That is where the dampened toothpick helps, it won't stick to the lash while you move it in position.
ohhh did you find the one you dropped? I found mine under my shoe!
I have longish finger nails so I use those to remove eyelashes from their holder. To apply them I found the trick is to put the glue on the eyelashes, not where you are going to apply them. I've ruined a few lashes doing it the other way.
