Two babies and a monkey!

I've done two more babies...and a monkey since I did the Jamie kit.

This one is the "Paisley" kit, as an auburn haired, blue eyed boy. He isn't totally finished. His head isn't attached. I still have to add eyelashes and open his nose, and add a magnet...and fix his hair, lol.

This is from a "Mattie Rae" kit, she was just my second baby.

And my "Joey" kit as a little baby girl orangutan monkey (thank you guys for your help on the paint job).

Thank you guys so much! I was really happy with how "Paisley" turned out, even though he looks a bit older, I think it works for him:) I did make his hair a bit thick, but live and learn.

The monkey was fun to do, and I will be doing more in the future. The only trouble I had (after you guys helped me with the paint) was the very first layer of color. I'm going to make a gorilla next (although I may end up keeping it, haha) Then I will try my luck at a chimpanzee. I just love monkeys. I also found a lady that is making a limited addition chimp kit, so I ordered two, lol.

I'm going to be putting all three on ebay so we'll see how they do.

June, is the monkey from ashton drake a kit?

Thanks again for all the comments! (((Hugs)))

Wow! Incredible little monkey! He was a lot of work! Those hairy little arms and legs are beyond fantastic! It's great how creative reborn artists are in seeing so many different, unique ways to bring these little ones to life.

Great job with all three, Tracy! You are really having a lot of fun, aren't you?

I'm loving this Artist Showcase. Thanks, Mr. Secrist and Pat B.!

Thank you guys so much! I really appreciate the nice comments. And I really appreciate the reassurance on the little monkey. I really enjoyed doing it. If you guys happened to see any kits that might be cute as monkeys I would love to hear it! The only one I see right now is the Kenny kit.

You all are so nice, thanks again. I am among some amazing reborners, so it's very nice to receive your compliments!

The monkey is sweet. My only thought when I looked at him is that he would look even cuter with more hair on his cheeks/face! I adore monkeys and apes of all sorts and when I went to zoo's regularly and got to see them up close they had hair on their faces!

PS  Your babies are sweet, too.  I was just taken aback by the monkey!  I too have thought Joey has the look of a monkey-baby!

Yes, Mo the hair is all rooted in on the arms and legs

LD, I was thinking of adding more hair to the face, but I didn't want to risk messing it up.

I see what you mean!

How did you get the darker color for the skin?  Did you dye the vinyl before you painted it or did you just use the Genesis paints?

I may do a monkey some day, too.

LOL. Your comment reminded me of the interviews they did with the cast of Friends who were so happy to have the monkey off the show because of all of his antics.  I guess he was a real pain in the hind end!

Now I am debating on adding hair to the face...the reason I'm hesitant is because you can really see all the little holes from the needle...perhaps because of the dark skin?

As for the color, I just used the burnt umber with some flesh tone and purple added in and it worked. The first layer was the hardest. It seriously took about an hour, to to get it completely even...after that it wasn't so bad, but still not fun, :).
I didn't know you could dye the vinyl. How do you do that. It may be helpful in the future since I plan on doing more monkeys very soon.

Haha, I knew someone that had a monkey. He said that the monkey got aggressive as it got older. He said it started attacking him while he was sleeping and would even flip him off, LOL. Animals are so funny. I adore monkeys, but don't condone having exotic animals as pets, so a fake monkey is the next best thing...I think others will think so too!

Thanks for all the compliments on the monkey especially since she is my first.

Do you guys have any ideas of name for her? I can't think of any that are fitting, but she needs one.

I knew Joey would make the perfect monkey baby and what a wonderful job you did!!!! seriously he's fantastic!!! you'd never know it was a normal baby kit turned into a monkey kit if you didn't know your reborn suppliers and kits.

seriously i LOVE him... i'd like to try doing a monkey baby at some point and he is probably the kit i'd use... one day.....

If your looking for a good candidate for a monkey bub the tommy kit from ros jhonson is perfect, i would love to do mine as one but dont have the paints for it. he so much looks like a monkey in plain sculpt form, i think he would be perfect.

Sammi, Do you have a website with the Tommy kit? I tried to find it, but couldn't. Thanks.
