Hi all, I just wanted to say hello and to say that we have some photos of the opening party from last weekend on the colliii.com website. We had several of our artists there including Evelina Wosnjuk and Petra Seiffert. Check out the fotos and see what you think!

Hi! Yes the registration date has been pushed forward to allow more entrants, you have until the end of August still. There are lots of people entering, but it is also a good way to do some market research if you know what I mean. The dolls will be initially voted on by the users of the Colliii.com website. So you can see what the "masses" like and if you sell Reborns it is a good way to see what is popular. Also its nice to see what people around the world think of your doll!
If you have any questions then drop me a line at james@nicky-creation.de or j.carlsson@colliii.com and I would glad to help.

What do you think of the stories and interviews, how can we make it more interesting and less messy :)
James

Hi james, to be honest i didn't even stop to read any of the interviews, i've just had another look just at your layout - still not looking at content etc. Its the layout that gets to me i guess... its set up more like a newsletter than a site... my suggestions would be to have a home page that then links to the differing content... a link to the interviews page, a link to a page that focuses on the contest, a page about the different sculpts and products etc, a page about shows and exhibits... right now all of these different aspects are packed together on the one (2page) scrolling "list".

for me it would be more user friendly if the different categories were set on different pages, I'm not any website designer by any means. In fact i'm just playing around with setting up my first site ever as we speak. And i do think that the mission of your website is fantastic and has potential to go a long way. But i'm being honest here b/c you did ask. When i went to the page my first reaction was one of mess, clutter and chaos.

I than clicked on the "General rules" and read only up to point #2 where the contest dates are listed as
"between the
15.05.2008 and the 31.07.2008 No registrations will be accepted after
this. "

i quit reading after that and closed the site.

I'm being completely honest here and i hope i'm not offending any. I just figuer that if this was my response then there are possibly even more people who have came to your page and left the same as me. So at risk of offending i figuer it might actually be helpful if i'm so bluntly honest.... gosh i hope so and that i'm not coming across as *a horrible person that is often diescibed as the B* word.

i might look further into your contest... however knowing what baby i'd enter has me completely lost. I have too many to chose from... and i'm awful at making such decisions.

Hi, dont worry Im not offended, far from it, its interesting to know! As the website is still new and is being updated and improved all the time, its good to hear peoples opinions, not everyone says the same thing :) Also we have been so busy with it that for us it makes sense and is clear, however someone who looks at it for the first time might not like it, if you understand what I mean.

Interesting to hear about the newsletter style set up. We will be encompassing a lot more over the coming weeks, so although the site as it is now is kind of a temporary frame, its good to know how it is coming across!

James if i could just point out a couple of things that may help you, im from australia and for registration fees and post back of the doll etc it does say australia there but it is in german money I cant find the little symbol you use but it is 60 german dollars it would be nice if this was in AUD so that we know exactly how much it is going to cost us, also alot of reborn artist i know say that their dolls are OOAK I notice you do have a OOAK competion and i found it a little confusing when first going to the site to find what catagory i was in, it would be nice to go to the site and have it in sections like reborn artist click here, OOAK sculptors click here for example you have Reborn, Newborn, Reallife, Real Effect as a catagory that is what we make but we are Reborn Artists I hope im making sense, for me this would be a much easier way to navigate around your site (((hugs)))

Leah, hmmm yeah i don't think i have any babies not yet shown... except for the re-reborning i've just done on the morgan sculpt. I've talked about her but not yet taken any pics so i could maybe enter this bub. She's finished now except to be assembled... i need more joints and haven't gotten round to going to spotlight as yet -- its about a 30min drive away and when all i need is 2 sets of joints it hardly seems worth it... but the owner is coming to pick her up on the weekend so i'll probably drag myself out of the house and go get them tomorrow.... but having a baby that i don't get to show off yet is so frustrating... i love taking their pics an showing them off.

All my other babies have been photographed and sold or were shown off at the show i just did over the weekend. But this re-reborn one, although already owned and so will not be going on ebay etc i could photograph and entre her... but i'm not sure how the owner would feel if i told her she can't send pic out of her yet....

i have an order of 4 BB kits coming early next week and one DD ... i've also ordered new limbs for my 3 secrist preemies that i have (the ones that didn't sell at the show - alexander [zoe], molly [gumdrop] and jewel [lollipop]). I decided to get the BB preemie limbs and re-do them for these bubs ... i really hope secrist does decide to release some new preemie limbs that have more shape sculpted into them... i haven't checked back to that topic to see if the buff-woman found anything more out. hmmmm

james - glad i didn't offend.

edit - just read what Leah posted above... so we have to send the actual doll in... hmmm well i don't think thats going to happen this year then. maybe next year

Hun if you get into the top 15 you have to send the baby to them all the way to germany at your cost they will pay to send her back but any custom fees must be payed by you so it would be better to enter a bub that hasnt got a mummy or been shown as yet.
as far as i know i belive secrist are bringing out more new limbs but i dont think anyone knows when exactly (((hugs)))

Hi all, thanks for your comments and honesty! The prices are shown in Euro here is a link to the price for the shipping http://colliii.com/en/content/ooak-one-a-kind

There is a very good currency converter here http://www.xe.com/ucc/

The thing with the showing the babies is designed to give everyone a fair chance of winning. There are some artists that are more known than others, so collectors etc might vote for them simply because they know the name or know the baby instead of the fact that it is a good model.

When people see the babies and the name is not shown or they dont recognise the model then the voting is based solely on Merit the beauty of the baby and nothing else

Hello All, I went on to have a look at this site last night and it isn't as user friendly as this one, I tried to log in and it kept telling me I was nuts, now I know i'm not the brightest spark in the fire when it comes to computers, but I managed this one really easy first time I was one it. James, I think you have to take a look at a few other reborn doll sites to make it easy, I also lost all my resent emails when I went to have a look at you confirming my username. So didn,t get one from you.weirdfaceJune M from Oz
