My dad prefers us one family at a time. My mom likes all the chaos of all 4 kids, spouses, and childlren (although I think she could do without the occasional pet).

My folks live very far away and choose not to come back here to Minnesota (my ma says its too cold now that she lives in hot weather). But she's got 3 of my siblings out there and when they all come over, with allllllll their kids AND the grandkids, spouses, signigicant others and their friends... WOW! LOOK OUT!! She's glad when they all go home.

I'm not lucky enough to have grandbabies. My oldest is 32 and she's not having any children, and my other one is just 19 and I say she needs to enjoy life first. But she says she's not having any either.

I have a foster daughter who has a boy that is 13 now and he's a handfull all by himself. But I don't get to see them either very much, maybe once a year or so. So I do rather envy you all you know. I would make a really great grandma!!! :)

Pat B.,  I'll send you a couple of kids and grandkids if you want them.... they run in ages from 35-26 on kids, and from 14 to almost 3 (not to mention the new one coming) and they will eat everything, or nothing... depending on which kid you have....  Hot dogs and waffles seem to be the meals of choice, followed by pizza...  The food that will go through this house next weekend will bankrupt me for weeks to come... I'll be eating peanut butter!!
June, my "sweet" one is Sammy, Samantha Lin.  She was born with a heart problem as well as having developed additional problems, but she is the quiet one looking for a book to read, or wanting to do some of the craft stuff.  She's the least likely to get into trouble and the quietest of the bunch...  Like me, she also collects dragons.  She is the eldest of the 7 grandaughters.  She's one of the ones who was here for two weeks...
The youngest one of the bunch, Buddy, is the terror of the group!  You have to watch him like a hawk every minute of every day or he's into something.  His mother says he tried to flush his underwear twice this week, got into his sister's nail polish and painted up himself and the house, and has been known to climb up a chair pushed against the door, undo the latch and let himself out of the house at all times of the day...   She has had him brought home more then once by the neighbor.  She gets one eye for the three oldest kids, and one eye for him.  Don't always work.
Kids are good in small doses, that's why I only had 3.  In large doses they are killers!!

LOL! Shakyhandsme!

I have one, a step-son. He is 14 1/2 and a good kid. He has lived with us since January. But last Christmas spent a few days with my niece and nephews. WHOA! Love them like crazy but it was nuts.

I've had a classroom full of kids. My first year on contract I taught 1st grade. I had 14-18 kids and most of them were boys! That class was nuts. With that many active kids I needed about 2-3 or more adults even though we were in a classroom. I had a runner who would leave class. Yikes. (In California all doors go outside)

Now I teach 4/5 th grade. Last year 4th and this year 5th (same group, more or less). Older kids are so much easier for me. Although I'd go to Kinder in a heartbeat. It is the 1st-2nd grade years that are toughest, imo.

Hello Pat C, My eldest daught is Samantha, but we call her Mandee as our first son that she mothered couldn,t say it, so then he cut it down to Dee. He, the one watching over us all, so doesn,t very oftened get mentioned. Her husband calls her Sam but it gets confussing because her Dads name is Sam. My other son Zanes, three that were here this weekend broke the bank, because of birthday presents that I had to get all of them because as it goes with seperation the mother usually thinks you,ll keep them if their in your care. His youngest, is just like him a climber. He walked at 7 mths, climbed out of his cot at 11 mths, onto the roof of the house at 4 and ran away from home with his little swag at 2. The youngest daughter, born on his 2 nd birthday, was quite, but while I was pregnant with him, we had hooks and eyes on all the doors and cupboards, and he still managed to get into things. Old saying where there is a, will, there is a way and he,d find it. But it all comes back ten fold when they have their kids, GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOd isn,t it.weirdfaceJune M

Oh June,
So true, so true.  The daughter with the "active" son was the one who gave me all the gray hairs.  She ran away at 2, down to the barn where we found her asleep under a pony.  She is a tiny little thing, even after 4 kids, but as a toddler she was playing hide and seek with mom and hid in the working fridge.  After that we had to put a chain and lock around the fridge!!  And those are just a few of her nicer tricks.  So, she earned the little devil she has now!!  I remind her of it often!!  furious
Loves, I've been asked why I never wanted to teach in public school and I have always honestly answered that I never wanted to because I'd probably tan the bottom of some spoiled little brat and get arrested!!  Some little snot would mouth off at me and then my mouth would kick in, again I'd be in trouble!!  I stick to college kids... with very, very few exceptions they are of legal age and I can toss them out if they get out of hand... and there is very little coming out of my mouth that they have not heard before!!weirdface  Everyone is safer that way!!

Wow! You are all so lucky to have families. I have one niece and I only get to see her once or twice a year and I rarely if ever see the rest of my family. I guess I should try to have some kids myself...

Kicking DirtWhat a horrid idea!!!  Let someone else have them and that way you can spoil them and then send them home to someone else!!

It's the only way to do it!!  Dragon
