I've only eyelashed one baby, and it was a pain. The trick to the hand rooting is the tiny gauge needle. I don't know about open eye rooting yet. I'll let you know if I try it.
For some reason, I've been having a problem lately uploading pix directly here. So now I have to post them via photobucket....ugh.
Here is Connor in progress. I was afraid that I would run out of the brown hair before I was thru, so my daughter came up with the idea of mixing the blonde in with it. She's very pleased that now it looks more like her hair.
I think he's coming along very nicely.
I took him to work with me yesterday because I had to stop by to see my daughter to show his progress. I got to work early so I decided to make use of my time and root a bit. I had one lady come back to the break room, and I got the "WTH are you doing, oh, you make dollls....that's realistic....and creepy." It was a bit less than favorable reaction, but oh well. I told her I was making it for my daughter.
I'm just so pleased with Connor's face...his veining, and his eyelashes. I can't wait to get him done, and my girl is looking forward to Christmas so she can see him!
Your Connor is very cute, Liselle. I've had this sculpt for quite some time and didn't really care for him. But after seeing yours, I think I'm changing my mind.

HAIR IS DONE!!! Glue is drying. Got a question, though. How do I know I have enough glue in there? I used E-6000, and when I shine a flashlight in his head, I see the hair inside the head is glittery with glue, but it's not all drenched in there....I tried to get some pix....I apologize for the way they look....they look obscene to me, but that's just me. At any rate, maybe it will give you a good idea of what I mean.
I don't know if this is okay, I haven't glued any of my dolls yet. I'm thinking of using Tacky glue for that purpose. I guess it's okay as long as you can brush his hair without falling out :)
That's what I was thinking. So far, so good. I did put some glue on a glove this morning, and "paint" the area I could reach with my fingers with glue. So I feel better about that.
I know you already assembled him and he is a cutie! I just wanted to say that when gluing my heads, I just make sure each strand is stuck to the vinyl. I used to use ALOTof glue thinking it would be better but not so. As long and it is wet with glue it'll stay, especially with E6000.
