Mari, I don't think so.  However if you talk or e-mail Pat B. I think that she may be able to help you out.   Or so rumor has it! Shy Whistler

I guess I should be more specific... doesn't/ why doesn't Secrist sell heads only from their webstore? I see that Stephanie does, but she is the only one I've found. Another dealers have told me they aren't allowed to??

It would be good to be able to buy heads only, limbs only, etc - so why not?

I am a Secrist dealer and I am allowed to sell heads only.
E-mail me if you want.

exactly! I wonder why some dealers can and others can't? Perhaps it has to do with the volume they buy at?

Just a week ago or so Secrist finally allowed the dealers to purchase only heads if that's what they wanted. But I see that the option is not on the retail site. So my suggestion is to check with your nearest dealer to order your heads.

I know on the old forum we were always encouraged to buy from a dealer, so I do unless I can't find what I'm looking for! I did buy Guppy directly from here because I didn't think I'd find her with fairy ears very easily. I'm glad to hear that Secrist now allows dealers to sell the heads separately. I love Secrist faces. As a collection goes, they are by far the best I've seen. Whoever is deciding which submissions get made into kits has a good eye, imo. I also love the color of the viny. I never have to correct it! How I hate doing that!

I believe it is Mr Secrist himself that has the final determination on which faces/limbs get made from the models.

Thanks for the compliment on our vinyl. We feel we have it just the right color so no one has to make color adjustments. Also, with our translucent vinyl and the internal color wash, it is as close to real baby skin as you can get. Secrist has studied newborns (even just minutes old) for many many years to get the vinyl just right.

We also have just limbs available if that's what you want. So now all parts come separate (although limbs do come as a set of arms & legs together).

The color is not something you appreciate until you buy form another company and start out with a too pink or orange doll! YIKES! I've only bought one other sculpt from a different company that I didn't have to fight the vinyl color. I don't know the company, though.

I buy from DD and their German vinyl is very close to Secrist. But it doesn't have the translucency ours does. it's still very nice vinyl.

Ibought Taffy as a kit from my dealerover here and when I had finished painting the kit ,had the bobody weighted and put together and about to start rooting the hair,I noticed a split at the back of the head where there is a crease, the yynal wasn,t quite as thick, so I phoned and she sent me a differnt kit, Rosie. I still wanted to finish Taffy, but she wanted the whole doll back after I,finished painting and putting it together reluctently she gave me another head. It,s been painted again and i,m ready to root this head of hair. Lucky me,I didn,t have to paint another full Taffy.weirdfaceJune M from Oz

I don't understand why they would want the entire doll back, the head yes, but the whole doll? Glad they sent you another Taffy head. Please post links when she/he is finished.
