I was teaching 4th grade this past school year and in the winter I started gradually taking my creations in to show around. In the spring I let my students see them. They react pretty much the same way adults do. Some are freaked out, some love them and want to hold them, some roll their eyes.
Later, we were having a classroom conversation and one of my students who loves them asked me if I made dolls because I can't have children. (This is where the idea that children are so very honest comes from -- not because they always tell the truth but because they will ask questions like that when adults know better, even though they may wonder, too). I told her, no, that I make the dolls because I love dolls. And that I have 3 cats because I can't have children!
I was looking at my Username and remembered that happening. 10 years old crack me up sometimes!
My eldest daughter now39 was always asked when she was going to have a baby, from the the day you get married, they start asking that question and thats adults. Her and My youngest daughter tried from the day they were married, no luck, untill genetics were done, the middle daughter donated a batch of eggs to them both , now I have three more grandchildren. I didn,t tellyou but when I was teaching porcelain dolls the one called Baby Carol has a moving musical box in it. One of my ladies finished hers and took it home. Next lesson she said one of her daughters said " look Mummy she,s breathing " I thought that was sweet.June M from Oz.
