Hi hun and welcome. You may wish to create a free forum account to make it easier for people to answer your questions :D

I haven't heard of a convection microwave before. But you definately do not want to bake any babies on/in any microwave type oven, it doesn't cure the paints. We don't recommend the convection setting on ovens (but some still do it anyway) because it gets too hot (still the same setting but the air makes it hotter), so just a regular setting is best. You can use the search feature at the top of the page in the red bar. Just type in baking or baking babies, temp, etc and it will bring up all kinds of information for you to read through and find some answers hun.
A lot of us either bake on a dish towel/tea towel or baking parchment. I don't think I would put the parts right on the plate inside.

Also, if you are using other than Secrist kits (made in usa) or German kits (tight European standards) the kits usually give off toxic fumes when baking so you may want to bake outdoors and not bake in an oven where you prepare your families food. You can also find threads on this under the search feature.
Hope this helps hun! :D
