What do you do when you area is a mess?

I sit here every day, next to my work table, and *think* about reborning. I think, I want to paint, I want to root, I want to actually FINISH a baby. Then I look at my table, full of clutter and everything from dinner plates to receipts and realize it's too much effort for me to clean it off and start working.

I realize that I am lazy, that it wouldn't take much effort to actually MOVE crap around, but it SEEMS like it would.

I just wonder if anyone else ever falls into that rut, and what you do about it?

I only have one table in my tiny apartment- it's my work surface, my dinner table, and my study area. And I'm lazy to tidy up, but I have to :) Also, I've got one big table in my garden, so I'm making my crafts there when the weather is good, but I'll soon need to move all my work inside. It's starting to get colder.

I used to work on a small wooden folding table (tv table or tray table we call them). That way I can only put so much up there, and then it HAS to be put away. Saves me from putting lots of stuff on it.
I know it's hard hun, especially since I save everything and am a clutter freak hahaha. I have more "piles" of "stuff" than I can shake a stick at and hubby hates that and so do I. It's just the way I was raised I think.
I finally got my room in the basement fixed up (boy, that took years!) so I'm trying to keep some semblance of order but it still gets everything shoved in there. And of course everything else takes priority over cleaning haha. So I know where you all are coming from. I get so busy or find other things to take up my time so I don't have to clean lol. But sometimes ya just gotta go for it and do it to be productive. I'm great at organizing other peoples stuff but not so good with mine. Maybe you can pretend it's someone elses stuff and you're doing a "job" helping them? Couldn't hurt. :D
