Well, here is baked head Wondering if I root it and fill it will it look better? *lesson learned on my convectional oven! Any thoughts or wisdom is welcome~
I've heard that you can boil some of them and it will correct itself, but don't quote me on that. I don't know for sure. Otherwise, IMO, I dont think it looks THAT bad....not all babies heads are perfectly round....Baby had a difficult birth? Again, just my opinion.
I read online somewhere that you can fill a stocking up with rice and create a "rice sock" and hesat it in the micro for 1 minute with a small cup of water next to it in the microwave and then put it inside the head and it will warm it and retake it's shape. See if that helps.
Thank you for the tips and advice. I will continue to finish her and see how it turns out! That was my first bake on her ...eek..I have many more to go!!
I had one from BB they are the ones that told me to put it in a large saucepan of boiling water with a Hand Towel on the bottom and keep checking to see if it comes back into shape, mine did. XXXXX June.
It doesn't look that noticable but if it bothers you and you can't reshape it....take advantage and play it up. I mean if you plan to sell baby say it was the result of a difficult birth as suggested. That had happened to one of my babies but on the top of her head. I added mohair and you could hardly tell but if you felt her head you would feel it there.
So....When the time came to auction her, I added that she had a fontanelle! No one was the wiser and she sold!
Thank you for all the help. I have not went back to her to start the next layer yet. I was feeling liked I already failed and did not want to make it worse. I know..Pity Party.. Sad thing I know...
But I do feel much better, reading your posts has helped motivate me to get back in there and do another layer. Just bake it on "Oven" not "Convectional.."
