Hi everyone. I just wanted to let you know this in case I don't get to your question right away over the next week or so...
Yesterday, my husband and I went to lunch in another town, and we went on the motorcycle. The day was finally nice enough to be outside as the entire week before was temps near 100 degrees and really hi humidity. It was a nice lunch and a beautiful day until... we were sitting stopped at a 4 way stop sign intersection. We started to make our turn and BLAM!!! Someone in a large SUV hit us from behind! A homeowner that lives on the corner where the accident was saw the whole thing. He said I bent backwards with my head whipping, over the backrest and then went forward. I felt the crash in my whole body. I didn't fly off the bike and had I been wearing my helmet, it would have done more damage to my neck from the weight of it. After they peeled me off the bike (I couldn't move to get off myself) they put a collar on me and took me away in an ambulance. I am home now and on pain medication so if my spelling is a bit off, don't worry, its just my fingers don't feel attatched at the brain and have gone loony. :o
Aww Pat...how horrible. That goddness it wasn't any worse (bad enough as it is) Thats one of my worse fears anymore..a similar thing happened to my brother in law and his wife sitting at a 4 way stop. I haven't had my bike out in awhile but hubby's had his out and it's scary anymore. Everyones in such a hurry.
Anyway Big Hugs and lots of well wishing for a speedy recovery!
Pat so sorry to hear about your accident! Hope you and your husband will be o.k. Will say a prayer for the both of you. Like my husband says they just don't look out for motorcycles on the road. He use to ride .
Pat I am sooo sorry!.. Lots of Hugs from me! I hope you both the best as I know accidents are not always a good thing... I do hope you both feel better and heal soon.
More Hugs!

pat, that bites .......i'll bet they were texting.i see that alot here in florida. poor baby are you ever gonna be stiff. please get better soon........its not the same here with out you. sage
Oh Pat I'm glad you guys are ok, it could have been worse, I hate those things when my son was about 20 years old he and his now wife were in a bad motorcycle accident he almost lost his leg he has had about 8 surgeries hes fine but he can only bend it so far she has a bad back and has had 6 sugeries 4 in the las 3 months, the about 2 years after my sons' accident my husbands nephew was killed on one on his way to work, and I have 2 other reletives that has lost a leg and a foot, so you guys are totally blessed, feel better soon.
I hope they are charged with negulant driving and PAT you make sure you don't settle to quick. Samantha was involved in an accident years ago, and won her case, after quite a few visits to different specialest, she had spinal damage that didn't show up straight away and settled her claim, afterwards, still in servere pain and backwards and forwards to other specials, had to have neck surgery from wiplash, she still suffers and there is nothing more they can do as she would end up with a neck she couldn't turn. So please make sure all t's are crossed and all i's dotted before you sign anything. Now after I have said all that, I WISH YOU AND YOUR HUSBAND A SPEEDY RECOVERY and that I will be thinking of you. XXXXX June.

Thank you so much everyone for the well-wishes. The bike goes into the Harley shop on thurs for an estimate. It will not be fixed for several months as the parts have to be painted by their factory. Buff has another bike so at least "he" can still ride out the rest of the season but this was "our" bike that we used together.
So I went to the chiropractor today and he did more tests. Says there's swelling in my neck at the base of the skull, left shoulder and collarbone are not good, and of course the back. Intermittent sciatic pain in the leg, and a few more things. I already have bulged discs from a prior accident. It's hard to be laid up like this. My brain isn't working very well today, must be from the stress.
I got a copy of the police report today... our license plate number is wrong so it came up with the bike being registered to some woman, and it says our bike is a 2000 Yamaha when it's really a 1990 Harley. Then it has my birthyear wrong, and to top it off... it says the SUV that hit us was red! How can you get red mixed up with white?? I didn't hit my head so why do I feel so daft with all this? The officer won't be in till Wed so I'm gonna get right on it to have him change it.
