If it badly scarred maybe a wig? They have them with baby fine hair that may give you the look your trying to achieve. Just another thought.

The human hair wispy would be the only wig "I" would try. It is the most sparse one on the market. You can also get them with the clear caps too.

As far as stuff you suggested, I don't know for sure but I don't think there is anything. The vinyl that Secrist uses has to be cured in an oven to become as you see it. Rubber cement would be too messy and stick to the hairs too badly when rooting. You might try applying E-6000 craft glue inside the head to hold the hair and possibly bonding with the vinyl to hold. I have heard it's then more difficult to root but it is one suggestion.

Or maybe some artist gesso that cures but stays flexible. Check with an art supply store for that. I use that to hold the hair inside the head but don't remember what brand. It has a white and black label.

If you wanted, you might try a thin layer of sculpy clay on the scalp and root before you bake (otherwise it will be hard).

I am not aware of anything that I feel would be workable to cover the appearance of large holes or a pitting.

I know that there is a product that is a liquid vinyl, but doubt it would work on the outside of the head. It might help to use it on the inside of the head, but this is just a guess on my part.

The wig that Pat and Tina suggested may be the best idea.

You can try the liquid sculpy, but you still have to bake it. Maybe you can bake it less time and it may stay pliable, I don't know, you'll have to experiment.

I think I know the post you're talking about, it's the one I think I posted about the hot/ice water to close loose holes in the head from rooting. I almost forgot about that. Give it a try and let us know what happens. The way you were talking about it I thought it was BIG holes.

The liquid sculpey post said she used it, and since it remained flexible after baking, she had no problems rooting. It's a thought!

On that same line, you might even be able to use the FLEXIBLE sculpey. It supposed to be used for things that need to remain bendy, like erasers.

Well, yeah, the Day-glo colors might be a bit.....off....for baby's hair. Unless you're doing a fairy head, then all bets are off! LOL

You Ladies have been so helpfull as I too have to reroot a baby I sold in Xmas 07, she loves her so much, she has to take her for a drive to school every day , mum has to take home and put her to bed and then back straped in her car seat to pick her daughter up in the afternoon. Now thats true love for one of these littlereborns, It'was a Squeeky Sculpt. The hair looks like it has been haved off, so I have the job of re rooting. XXXXX June.
