I thought that it was interesting that he sent it here. Doesn't that mean that he has to be a member here to do that? It is so stupid that it isn't funny...and now I have deleted it.

Wow. This type of email has been circulating for years. It used to come in the form of snail (aka REAL) mail, and seemed that the elderly were targeted, because they're more trusting.

Don't fall for this people!!

I got one too! I am not pleased that this man is emailing us in our forum.. Does he think he could find one of us victim(s) to help.

And to take him in as a family member.. now that's just creepy and He needs to be reported. There should be a safe guard for us to feel safe..

I think I will go to fb and let my friends and family know this scam... Because if he got in here he must have been to fb..

I am so outraged by this...

Yes it does and I just found him/them. He just signed up on July 3. I am. as I type, trying to get him banned from the forum. We don't need any scummy scammer in here.
Chances are it will only be this once. They knew enough not to post in forum cause then I believe I can ban/report them, so since they have no life... as usual, they decided to make everyone elses mucked up too!

I tried googling different things but... nothing, UNTIL... I googled the name and it came up with about 46,000++ pages on this scam (and it is a definate scam)! Not always the same one but ours is definately in there, listed ver-batim I might add!

So anyway, please DON'T reply, just delete and try to put this out of your mind! We are trying to find a way to delete/ban this creepo but even if we can't (until he actually posts) just delete anything from this ok?

I've just found the same in my mail-box. I deleted it. We have a lot letters like it in Russia. I am never answering this letter. But once my youngest answered and sent the sms for phone shown in the letter and they took all the money from her phone. I think, the write way is report to site-admin.

Problem with him and any others is they always give not only a false address but a false phone number too. Its linked to theirs but you can't really see it. Take my Secrist e-mail address for instance...
I always get mail from my address sent to me at my address. I know it's not me sending but they will always steal something and cover up their own, assuming they won't get caught. And a lot of the time they don't. Now the google information I got is that this creepo is somewhere over in Nigeria (they said that's where most of them come from), and there is no such internet carrier so we can't report it to them (ie: abuse@???). There are no international internet gardians either. So... all we can do is try to ban him/them and block from our forum.

It only takes one bad seed to mess it up for the rest of us. So go ahead and delete his pm, he has not posted and probably won't. These things are usually a one time thing.
Be assured we are doing everything we possibly can my dears!

Now, take a deep cleansing breath, let it out, and get on with our usual fun!!! :)

I just got on the computer again after having a new hard drive installed with a different OS or I would have responded sooner.

You are right about all of this, Pat. However... there should be a workaround if you have the correct permissions. I know I do not or I would have handled it.

I don't have that ultimate authority either Linda, only Mae does. So I am waiting to hear from the office on this. My internet and computer have been down for a few days so I'll go check now as to their reply. Might take them a while to check things out...
