Rooted eyelashes vs glued eyelashes

I like rooting sleeping babies it looks more realistic, but if you are not comfortable with rooting use glue on until you get more experience rooting. This is my opinion.

It's a preference. I have a time of it with gluing when on so I root but I do like rooting them better. I find it easier.

You'll find it easier than you think and the outcome in my opinion is more realistic.

I never do glued lashes on a sleeper. But the open eyeds are really difficult if you don't get it right so I'd rather use glued on them. :)

I never do glued eyelashes on any of my babies. They look way too fake. I root all my lashes, open and closed eyed. It's very easy to do on the sleepers, and with a bit of practice, even the open eyed babies aren't all that hard. It's worth the effort.

First, welcome to the forum!!!!

I started out rooting the eyelashes on the sleeping babies and gluing them on the open-eye dolls. Now I prefer to root the lashes on the open eyed dolls also.

Once in awhile, I find the angle is too hard or the vinyl is too thin at the correct point, and end up gluing the eyelashes on the open eye dolls. Those glued lashes can look more realistic if you trim them and snip a few here and there.

Welcome Taylor Made, I think the rooted sleeping babies look lovely, but I have yet to pluck up the courage to do one. I also like put put on the fake ones on awake babies. This is a very lovely family of caring ladies and will give you all the help you need. XXXXX June.

But what is the best type hair to use when rooting eyelashes?
I can't imagine using the same hair that I'll root on the top of her/his head for these eyelashes(lash hair is much more coarse)

I used the hair I put on my babies head for her eyelahes because she is a sleeper and it was all I had at the time.. Her lashes came out really awesome...

I use the same mohair and what I'm rooting thier heads with. I think most artist do the same.
