Here is my custom Jayden with her painting mostly done (all she needs are some milk bumps, extra splotches, and such). Honest critique would be welcome. Enjoy her!

Thanks for looking!

Her coloring is very realistic. Lips are fantastic, and blushing/mottling... devine! Nipples are a tiny bit too dark. Glad you didn't put baby tears on her. Maybe just a little matte or satin varnish on the lids and lips (IMHO).
Her new mommie will just LOVE her to peices! I know I do!
For the mottling, what did you use? The jumbo mop, the little dot sponge stix (I don't remember the name of them). Just curious
Thanks, everyone! Pat, I used several things for her mottling. Firstly I used a cosmetic sponge that I plucked with tweezers to make it very similar to a sea sponge. I also used a 3/4 inch stipple brush. Lastly, a small 1/4 inch stipple brush was used to give a few small "imperfections". By the time I was done with her, she had had about 40 layers of paint, which is the way she got all that depth.

Thanks for the info Andrea. Your techniques and painting are always exemplary! I wish you had the time to paint one of my kits for me. Not assemble or root, just the painting. Maybe I can get you some time to just paint a leg/foot as a sample. You should have the title of master reborn artist! Or do you already? No kidding!
I have several natural sea sponges that I use and then when I apply the paint with them I lightly pounce with a cosmetic triangle sponge. Maybe you could take some pics of some of the steps and what they look like and post in here if you get a chance. I do so love her. :)
I usually have about 15-20 layers on my babies. Maybe more depending on the effect. But my babies don't hold a candle to yours hun. Fabulous, simply fabulous!
Andrea, do you use odorless paint thinner or do you use the Genesis paint thinner?

Good question LInda. I have as yet to use the Genesis thinner with my paints. I do use the premixed with thinner added and it's all good though. Just haven't tried it with my custom mixed paints yet.
Yes, sometime when I have time I will do a tutorial. I will just have to see when. At this point, I do a lot of different things and don't have a real "pattern" to the way I do it. Lots of trial and error, but I'm glad you like the results. I use odorless thinner for the most part, and I do add it to my premixed paints (though I custom-mix most of my paints). I use Genesis thinner every once in a while, but don't like it as much.
