Hi i'm new to reborning and have all the bits and peices i thought i needed as per advanced dvd. But then i watched some reborning on you tube and noticed theat they attach a ring around the neck and a plug inside once the head is stuffed. Are you supposed to use these with all dolls?
those usualy come with bb babys, some people like them but they aren't nessasery. the ring is supposed to let the babys head turn easier . alot of people enlarge the holes in the limbs and head to help with drying after baths and internal washs,so the plugs end up useless . sage

As Sage said, the plugs and rings do not come with all doll kits. In fact, I only know of one doll kit maker that includes them, and they seem to be a necessity for that particular brand due to the softness of the vinyl.

I've never used mine. They only come with the vinyl/silicone mix kits from BB. Well, I guess I can't say never... I use the neck plug when I root those heads. For some reason it gives them some stability when rooting. Then I take them out
My Paisely's fingers melted because I had my countertop oven on "convection". It was the right temp and I had her in for 8 minutes but... the hot air circulating around creates more heat and I almost lost the head too! It's was like... very squidgy :o
I know some do their babies with the convection mode but for a shorter time. Not good according to Genesis. It MUST be baked at 265F for 8 minutes, no convection. Or 10 minutes if you're doing a Secrist kit internal wash. Maybe when I get a new computer or get my old one fixed (hopefully next month!) I'll have to post a pic of the little hand. Sad really, but it looks funny now. I had to get new limbs. One foot also caved in. Darned convection lol
