Hi! I'm back to the dolls after a long break. I then tried the Angelic touch mohair from Secrist - color black. Guess what happenned? After spraying it with baby's hairdetangler I just ended up with dark grey stains all over my doll - face, neck and cheeks!!!!! Please help!! It's a birthday gift and I really don't want to destroy the painting trying to remove the stains. Thank you soooo much!!!!
hello, i saw on the home page website about the darker curly hair having some kind of issue, they said to contact them for special instructions. i hope i could help you, wlecome back after your long break!
Hello, I purchased the dark brown angelic mohair then secrist said to return it for another package, they replaced it, contact them to see if they know of something to remove the dye I wish you luck.
Thank you so much!!! That's what I'm going to do. I'll call them and find out! I'll let you guys know and hopefully get a solution for the "birth mark". Thanks again.
Sometimes you can just use a terry washcloth and soap and water to rub off the dye. If that doesn't work you may try the acne cream solution. But yes, do call/e-mail Secrist to find out their suggestions. They had unknowingly gotten a bad batch of mohair and let people know as soon as they knew there was an issue.
I'm not sure how I missed this earlier.... Is this posting gone from the Secrist site? Does it apply to any dark brown/black mohair or only the Angelic Mohair product?

Thanks again for the support. I'm calling Secrist on Monday and finding out what to do. The doll's head is almost done, but I think it's ruined. My real concern is how to keep the hair moist and in place after the Mohair is cut - and still staining the head everytime it gets wet. As I won't be able to replace it after 80% of it is done I have no choice but feel really sad about it!!!!!
Thanks, Pat. I think they should think about having some product support archives.

All you really have to do hun is to wash the dolls hair (on the head) with a nice baby shampoo, then rinse till theres no more color coming off. Make sure the water isn't too warm and don't really rub too much (hot will frizz the hair and so will rubbing). Then when you blot the hair, see if any more color comes off. If so, shampoo and repeat till no more color comes off.
There's also a post in here about doing the color fastness test to see if your hair is ok and usable. Take a look.
Thank you for the help! I finally removed the stains with Acne cream and will try to finish rooting and then wash the Mohair with baby shampoo. "Living & Learning"....Next time I'll test the Mohair before rooting!
