Is secrist ever going to publish a book or do they already have one?

I was just wondering if secrist is going to publish a book in the near future?  I think it would be easer for me to read a book on like my lunch hour you know something to do and learn.  I have three of the secrist DVS's but I would really enjoy a book.  I could do the doll and look at it as a refrence.  I mean I like the dvd's but dont you think it would be nice to have a book.  I have course 1 and 2 and the one on sculpting the head.  Is there another one that is a little more in depth?  I have done 4 dolls and they dont look real.  They look cute but not like omg is that a real baby.  That is what I am looking for to astound.  And when I watch the sulpting video I am going to try to sculpt my two kids when they were babys.

Hi Michelle,

I have heard of no plans for Secrist to do a book, but I will ask them to make sure.

However, Secrist does sell books that others have written.  For instance, they have the Excellence in Reborn Artistry books by Jeanine Holper.  Her tutorial books are written for use with Genesis paints.  There are books that focus on rooting, newborn mottling, and facial features. I believe there are 6 books that are available.  The bad news is that books cost more than DVDs because they are way more expensive to produce.  The books are $39.95.

There are also other DVDs available.  There is a Course 3 DVD.  There are also DVDs that focus on Genesis paints as opposed to the Authentic Reborn Paint.  Genesis paints are heat set paints like the Authentic Reborn paints.  They are not transparent, however, and paint thinner must be used.

I hope you don't get discouraged.  Most of the dolls that astound are created by artists who have lots and lots of experience.

Mr Secrist had spoke to me some time ago about eventually coming out with a book or 2. In the meantime he has done the information/help sheets and since you have expressed interest in written material I think those might be just right up your alley! Give them a go and see if you like them. I too am an audio/visual person when it comes to making things. It helps me to see things right in front of me and that I can refer back to.
