I think your finished one is very cute for a first she is delightful. If I am not mistaken , the 2 nd one is Taffy am I correct? But cant picture who the first one is. XXXXX June.
Welcome to the forum. It looks to me like you are off to a wonderful start with reborning. Paisley and I have never really bonded. Okay, I will admit she was one my first dolls, and I was completely sick of her by the time I called it quits. I had such trouble getting that pink / purplish color vinyl to look alive. Anyway... that is off the subject. I just really wanted to say that your Paisley looks so sweet that I might need to revise my opinion of her. You did a a really good job.
Again... welcome!

Thank you so much! I had a rough time with her and wanted to root her with dark hair and have her be blue eyed but ended up with strawberry blond mohair and brown eyes. It made it a bit more difficult to do her coloring. I like her now though. I want to add some veining to her and more blushing on her feet but other than that I am happy with how she turned out. But she was much harder it seems to me than paddy has been. The secrist kits seem to take the color better. I have a honey kit I am going to do next. Hugs Lori
You are correct! The Secrist kits are made with a slight texture on the top of the skin so that the paint grabs and holds on better that some non-Secrist kits.
I'm glad you are enjoying little Taffy. I have done over 9 of them! Your Paisley looks very good also. I think your Taffy needs a little more color in the face but the feet look ok.
Thank you. I found that dress at this new store in my area. It's an estate sale kind kind of thing and there are tons of dresses like that in one of the stalls. All of them are 20 bucks. I will be going back for more! Lori
Your first baby is gorgeous. I think the strawberry blond hair and brown eyes work well for her. You did do a good job on a first baby. The second one I think I would have done more color on the face. Other than that he looks cute. The dress is very nice indeed. She is so cute.
Thank you. I have since darkened him up a bit. He is still being worked on yet. I won't be getting his body or hair for a week yet so I am taking my time. So what color hair should I give him? Well I think it looks like a him anyhow. That could change when I am done rooting his hair though! lol Hugs Lori
The hair color? I'm not sure. I think maybe a dark brown or black depending on how deep his/her coloring is going to be. The pink color he had now is nice. I tend to go with something I've already envisioned in my heard when I purchase the kit. But I think whatever you choose is going to look great! Can't wait to see him/her Take you time...it'll come to you.
Thank Tina and Emily. I wanted to go with dark brown or black and then when I started him he looked like a blondie so I wanted to get some ideas from all of you. hugs Lori
All I can say is Bravo on your Paisley. I haven't had any problems with the pink colored kits and Paisly was one of the first ones that I really felt looked pretty good. It was the first one that my husband said "she beautiful". That made my day. But I must have done about 10 or more before I got that from him. I'll show you my paisley...I did blonde hair and now I wished I had done darker hair. To me it seems they decide what color they want!!! Really. I hold a color up and sometimes it just about makes me gag and then comes the dread of pullling the red out and holy scow...that's the one that clicks. It took me a couple of Secrist to get used to the very light color. It was Christmas time and you can see how glad I was about my husband liking my doll.

Your Paisley tan urned out really nice! It's amazing to see how a different color combination completely changes the doll's look.
Way back when did mine with that very pink vinyl, I had just begun reborning with Genesis, and it didn't occur to me that I could have neutralized the color. Duh.

With mine it was my first so wasn't thinking about neutralizing mine. I just kept working on her in layers. I am already looking at redoing some of her color. I don't mind how dark she is but I think she needs some more pink in her cheeks. Can't decide yet. Lori
